Great course for a great price
I love this course. Its a really interesting layout with a few holes with sharp doglegs and non visible greens which make you think about what club to play instead of mindlessly reaching for your driver.
The course was in great condition apart from the 2nd and 3rd where some draining was being installed. Fairways were firm and greens were just the right speed.
The round cost £25 through golfnow which is excellent value. I guess they feel the need to keep prices low due to the close proximity to the big name Leeds clubs but I would happily have paid an extra £10.
Lost in Space
Decent tidy course, in good condition but shocking signposting and easy to go in wrong direction/get lost between holes due to long walk between some tee boxes. Off course facilities excellent and 6th hole is a challenge even off winter tees. Would play again but better signage would really help for non locals.
Dry day
Couple of holes being upgraded and tea boxes mats but the coarse is in great condition otherwise and for the price paid well worth a round.
Autumn showers
Course was great picked a day when the wind was up and it was raining intermittently ,the course held up fairways and greens were spot on. Good test if your heading for coastal round some high points on the course tested your iron play.
Far too busy
I’ve played this course 3 times now & the last 2 occasions have been very disappointing due to being too busy on the course. We had to consistently wait 10-15 minutes on tee’s due to hold up & slow play. The club allowed a play-off pair in & this delayed our tee time by 20 mins. It went from bad to worse then & so bad we nearly walked off on 3-4 occasions. I am reluctant to play here again, so frustrating!!!
This course has good features
The pace of play was very slow today as there was finals day at the course. What was happening was players jumping ahead on some holes. The etiquette of some players was very slow. I was in a 2 ball match and in front of us there was a 2 ball and then in front of them a 4 ball and a 3 ball. On a number of occasions these groups had lost balls in the long grass and refused to wave us 2 ball groups through. We were then left on the tee box talking to each other as both of us 2 ball had someone in the group as strong drivers
Great course ,it is very well maintained tee's we're good greens we're perfect friendly staff what more do you want .
Good Old Tuesday….
19 of us visited on Tuesday 21st September and we not only dropped lucky with the weather but were all very pleased with the condition of the course.
The greens were all consistent and the fairways and bunkers were in pristine condition. One big difference from our last visit was the fact that the usual horde of Canada geese were no longer around, which meant for a much cleaner environment around the lake areas.
Well done Cookridge Hall, keep it up.
Also a big thank you to Graham and all the staff for being very helpful and friendly (they do do a mean bacon sarnie)
Looking forward to our next visit already.
Cookridge Hall
Course in excellent condition with welcoming staff. Green well maintained. Only slight criticism was we were unsure of where we were aiming at times as no course map on card or on distance markers at the tee boxes.
Great course
We were working in Leeds and booked a last minute deal , absolutely fabulous, great test , forgiving but challenging
Brilliant greens, quality place for the price
Cookridge Hall Golf Club
Excellent course.
Could do with clear signage to next hole.
Superb
Enjoyed another round at Cookridge. Superb course conditions & layout. Loved it!
Great course in beautiful setting
A very good course in great condition. Hope to be back to visit again soon, the 6th is a great test of nerve!
Superb
First time played at Cookridge & loved it. Really great layout & superb greens. Looking into membership
Enjoyable course.
Pace only average but that was due to a comp we were told about. Greens have been worked on so we knew they wouldn't be as good as they normally are. The only issue was to do with quite a few of the tee not been in good condition, playing off the yellows.
We will visit again
