Never again
Nothing like the reviews no marshals shocking bad slow play gave up after spending nearly 2and a half hours on front 9 waste of money far better courses around
Really nice course
Nicely laid out - front and back 9 quite a different feel. Some areas suffering from a lack of grass growth due to the dry spring but generally good around the greens. if you don’t like undulating fairways then this course isn’t for you. Only moan is the bunkers - not enough sand and way too gravelly. One slightly damaged short iron from a buried sizeable stone aswell. Will definitely be back. .
Great value and lovely course
Course layout is really good with front 9 and back 9 quite a different feel. some bare patches where the grass simply hasn’t grown back in the dry spring but generally the fairways are good. The only moan is the bunkers - the sand isn’t very sandy. a lot of stones and quite ‘gravelly’. Made it v tough to play out of them, especially around the greens.
Nice course but slower now weather has improved
I played on Tuesday late afternoon and Sunday afternoon. Tuesday was empty and the course was in great condition. Scored a PB round and it was essentially empty. Greens had a e good speed and everything was as you'd want from a course. Sunday the sun was out, it was 25 degrees around 4pm and the course was busy. There was a 4 ball in front of us the whole way round that wouldn't let us through so our game was slower than it could have been but we still managed to get round in 4 hours. Conditions were still great. Greens are being looked after and some have been aerated but not recently enough that it impacts your putting. Good challenge and value for money.
Crews Hill
Played here plenty of times. Great course and great value with friendly staff and nice atmosphere.
Course was in a playable condition, was good for a small fee and weather was very inviting, was glad to get out in the open air
Rained the night before
Rained the night before , be fair did offer to move tee time to another day .
5 temp greens and water logged in places
Be banging in the summer , Steve in the pro shop is a character
Enjoyable round.
Lovely day weatherwise for the time of year.
First 3 holes were OK but then caught up with a four ball consisting of 4 old boys who were very slow and didn't seem in a rush to let anyone past even though the 2 holes ahead were empty.
Jumped a couple of holes ahead of them.
OK until hole 13 where it got slow again, sio I went back and did the 2 holes I had missed then went back to do the last 5 holes.
Great open course
Great course and very open , able to find a ball in trees as it’s well cut back , will be attending again greens well kept as well
Good course, nice layout
A nice parkland course situated a very easy train ride from London (Great Northern line). The layout was great in that you always felt as though you were on isolated holes rather than weaving through fairways. A bit boggy after a bit of rain but standard for London clay-based courses. Nice greens and good amenities.
Great design
Very good course design, unfortunately there was still quite a lot of casual water, greens still not what they can be but I'm pretty sure it will improve fast
Best winter conditions
Iv played 4 different courses this winter. This course had the best conditions for me in december and i had a decent round. Played better than usual
Great course well maintained
Even with all the rain the course was still playable. The fairways were a bit boggy to be expected and the greens were fine. People working there were helpful and friendly. Nice.
Nice club, lack of challenge
The club house, car park, staff and facilities were nice. On a Summers day a really pleasant place to be. A balcony overlooking the 1st tee box and the 18th green with patio chairs was a nice touch. The course itself had very little challenge. Almost all holes are very straight. The greens were in good condition but I was surprised by the fairways. Horizontal bumps that I don't know if they were put in intentionally or not made walking the course with a trolley difficult, I don't know how the buggies would have been driven. This is the second time I've played this course. I enjoyed the round but I doubt I'd recommend or suggest going to friends.
Peaceful
Lovely tranquil mature course. Varied holes, challenging par 3s. Pretty much had the course to ourselves Tuesday afternoon. Great 19th hole bar and veranda looking out over the course.
You should note the course fairways are mildly undulating - not any bother to me.
Biggest grouch - the lack of sand in all the bunkers. Rock hard and should be gur.
