Sunday golf
Finally got to play the course as heard good things and was very impressed with the condition and how the course plays.
Unfortunately we got stuck behind a few 4 balls who were apparently playing in a competition (not very well) and it took us 1hr to play 4 holes. After 4 hours we eventually walked in on the 16th as couldn’t put up with the waiting any longer.
Having said that, looking forward to going back as it the course was very good.
Pleasant Course
Pleasant course inside the m25.
More water or wow factor required. Pretty much all the holes were straight. There were no dog legs.
Fairways furlough were interesting to deal with. Although on fair ways u should be rewarded.
Average
Tee boxes ok, fairways poor but greens good and true. Played as a 2 ball and the 4 ball in front said they didn’t want to let us through as they were being held up by the 4 in front so waiting to hit every shot after hole 7. Course not bad but not the most interesting.
It’s a good layout
When we got there, the head professional said he would have closed the course as it was too wet.. he was right. Don’t think the traffic did it much good that day.
Greens to die for.
The greens were in great condition. Some fresh pitch marks ignored by groups in front.
Course cordoned off in many areas esp around greens resulting in golfers with trolleys having to approach the greens after a wide detour.
Signs to the next green could be better. Its anyone's guess where the 10th tee is after leaving the 9th green.
Great little course
The course was a little wet in parts but not waterlogged
Greens were excellent fast across and slower top to bottom subtle borrows
All round an excellent 4 hours
I played ok my playing partner didn't fare that we'll bit we had a laugh and was a wholly worthwhile endeavour
I can imagine the undulating fairways causing a more thought than normal but that's the game
Will definitely play again
Some good, some bad
First the good stuff:
The course was straightforward, with some interesting par 3 holes. The greens were in good condition, and there is a practice green and some nets to warm up on before starting the game.
Now the not so good:
For some reason the ground undulates like waves, some a couple of feet high, all the way down most fairways. Pushing a trolley is bizarre, and not pleasant. And if a ball lies on the reverse side of one of the waves, it makes playing it much more difficult.
The practice nets are wearing out, and I lost a couple of balls which went through to the back of them.
And lastly, the pace was awful. Despite the 3 ball in front allowing me to play through, the game took nearly 4 1/2 hours due to constantly waiting for those in front. Asking to play through would not have helped much, and there seemed to be at least 4 groups backed up in front of me, maybe more.
