Shame about very slow play

Needed torches coming up the 18th

Good course on a lovely summers evening. The 4 in front of our 2 should have waived us through . As it was , we had to skip hole 8 to get in front of them to stand a chance of completing the course . We did with mi utes to spare

Great course with some good course obstacles and some varied holes.

It had been over 2 years since I last played Dainton. The improvements made have lifted the course significantly. It was in great condition with some memorable holes. The only frustration was the pace of play with a slow wait on every shot for the front nine. I will be back.

Two of us tee d off at 4.52pm there was 1 lady playing on her own hitting 2 balls each time and two blokes in front of her taking there time. We were stood on each tee for 5 to 8 minutes each tee and didn’t get to play the 17th & 18th due to getting dark. The course was in mint condition and great to play would have been nice to finish all 18.

First 7 holes were great. Lots of water in play. Tight tee shots, good accuracy required. Greens in good condition as well. Pace of play was not acceptable. 7 holes in roughly 2 hours was no where near normal. A two ball holding up 3 other groups. No marshalls, no rangers. Three groups waiting to play the 8th. Walked off after playing the 7th. If you are playing the course be aware of the time it will take. It is probably worth taking a buggy as well as the course looked to start getting quite hilly after the 7th.

Enjoyed the course very much. Greens had been recently scarified., but no problem to play. The Halfway house could do with an upgrade.

Everything about Dainton is good including the clubhouse. Course has wide fairways but still some good challenges.

Played here mid-March. Ground was soft but not boggy with not much run on the fairways. I guess to be expected at this time of year. Good variety of hole layouts with a tricky bit of water here and there with short distances from green to next tee. Friendly staff and decent facilities; pro and driving range.

Lovely course and amazing rates. It does get quite busy and the pace off play usually ends up with a slow last few holes.

I usually play as a one-ball which probably doesn’t help, that being said other golfers seemed to be a bit frustrated with the pace.

The staff were excellent and friendly, driving range to warm up on and the course was excellent. The only downside was the weather and the pace of play.

My group (3 ball) were keen to play some golf over the Xmas period but were worried about the potential conditions considering there was substantial rain over this timeframe. The day prior to our round the course was closed due to rain and we were pleasantly surprised to not only find it open for our round but in excellent condition.

Staff were very friendly and facilities were excellent also.

Met by an extremely friendly lady in the pro shop guided us around the clubhouse and showed us the amenities.. The course was lovely well maintained by the green keepers ,the bunkers were well raked and maintained,the tee boxes were very nice alot of elevated or tucked away tees,it all looked fantastic a credit to all involved 👏...we will be back very soon
