9 hole but good length
First time playing here and the course was in good condition considering the weather, didn't realise it was a 9 hole course tilwegot there but didn't matter, one hole was closed due to being boggy but overall very good
Lovely morning's golf
The course is in good condition, the locals were friendly
Just wish the score card had a hole by hole map
Well Presented Course
We played 9 holes here due to fading light and thoroughly enjoyed it. The course is very well kept and the best greens we have played on in some time. We played St Pierre in Chepstow 2 months ago and the greens were nowhere near Hanging Heaton standard.
Staff were very friendly, explaining the layout of the course and where the half way house was and code if shut.
My only suggestion would be to have some arrows and signs to the next tee as there is no map on the scorecard.
Will definitely play here again.
Hidden Gem
Played a lovely round of golf on a sunny Sunday evening at this little gem of a golf course hidden away in Kirklees.
The greens & fairways are all in a beautiful condition on this obviously well kept course & albeit a 9 holer there are some interesting holes of which some have a different tee off point on the back 9. We were greeted on the first tee by the friendly club captain who gave us some helpful course info after asking if we’d played the course before. A lovely chap who, quite clearly, is proud of his golf club ( & so he should be ) Shame he was non too keen on my bright yellow knee high compression socks 😬😂 - just have to hope he’ll let me back on next time, as I’ll definitely be playing this course again & strongly recommend to other golfers
A good round
A lovely course which was well looked after.
The people were all friendly.
The only drawback for some might be that you repeat the 9 holes to get a full 18 hole round.
Pace of play was a little slow when I visited.
Great afternoon Round
Fantastic club and course, great welcome and customer service, very reasonable prices, value for money and general pleasure. Will be going back.
Cracking little course - tough greens
Thoroughly enjoyed for a 9 holer - Great condition - Miss the flag on the high side and it's 3 putt territory
Great condition
A challenging course that's in excellent condition. Greens were pacey, the rough was thick and the variety of tee boxes to change it up over 18 holes was welcome.
Hidden gem
Rally surprised how good this ourse was. Good layout and freindly club house. Will play here again
Decent course if you aren't fussy
Arrived at 0900 and the pro shop was closed. A cleaner helped get us set up with cards and where to play. The course layout is NOT clear and there are no hole maps on the tee boxes. The course was in good condition though and there are some lovely views at the top of the course. For the money it is not a bad place to spend a few hours although if you are a decent golfer there are better courses in the area. If you are a novice or high handicapper we found a couple of the groups quiet unfriendly. They saw it as "old fashioned banter". I thought it was unnecessary, and certainly did make me feel any more confident when stood over the ball, ha!
Great course but confusing set up
This is a lovely golf course, but if you are new to the course it is difficult to find your way around. There is no signage to tell you where the next tee is and we had to ask members where we had to go. Not even a course plan on the score card, however this will not put me off from playing there again.
Lots of Love Care and Attention.
Loved the pace of play. Not much room for error left right or long. You have to plot your way round no advantage being a big hitter. The club house has been renovated to a very high standard and once inside could be easily mistaken for a new build. A lot of love and care and attention is continuous both on the golf course and off. Congratulations are in order to all concerned for maintaining high standards with a friendly service and atmosphere.
Great value, great condition for time of year
Didn’t realise this was a 9 hole course but wasn’t disappointed as the tees were different for the back 9 which mixed it up a bit, a good mix of holes including a few short par 4s and a long par 3 and a par 5 to finish up made for a test for most handicaps, very good value and a very warm welcome at the pro shop made for a very enjoyable afternoon!
Directions
This is though classed as a 18 holler it is the same 9 holes played twice. This is not a problem but finding the holes were at times challenging there was little in the way of signage and it took some effort to find our way around the course. he greens were very good, well maintained and extremely fast
Interesting for a nine hole course.
Greens were well kept, true and quite fast. The course has some blind shots so it is good that you get to play it twice and can plan your second nine. Views from the course we're lovely and the par threes were tough. Worth the 18 pound we paid on hot deals.
