About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

Great condition
Played on a Tuesday morning. Course is in great shape. Pace of play was good. Enjoyed, will play again soon.
Great bang for the buck
Played a twilight round. Great experience for the price. The course is in great condition. The group in front of us had five people with only three bags of clubs, but that ended at the turn, so it wasn’t too bad. The biggest downfall of playing this course in the summer is that there are no water jugs on the entire course so come prepared
For $100…?
At 1-hundy several things need to change. Maybe start with drainage. A tee box should not be simultaneously waterlogged and dry as a bone, for example. Also, someone should tell the staff that they’re in the service business. It’s not a privilege for us to play there. It’s a privilege for them to take our money. Lastly, did you take a tree trimmer to a few things? It’s one thing to have a narrow difficult course it’s another thing for your lie to be in the first cut, and behind a tree, and in a puddle from a low spot, and have to wait 5 mins for the group in front of you to take their 4th shot from the fairway… never saw one ranger.
Not worth the money
Carts are horrible , no towel , no tees , no water , no ice chest , no cart reader , pace is 6 hrs , cart girl didn’t come around till hole 11. Take your money to The Quarry, La Cantera , Canyon Springs.
Round
Course is in great shape. There is no water on the course which is absurd considering it’s the middle of summer. So make sure to bring your own. Also no scorecards. Money must be running low there. Would definitely recommend and playing here though
Beautiful Course!
I had the privilege of playing on this course in the fall of 2022, and was so happy to have the chance to play again on this visit to San Antonio! The course is quite long even from the forward tees, but it was in great condition and we almost had the course to ourselves (the temps were hovering around 100 degrees!) I hope that I have the opportunity to play at Silverhorn again!
All things considered
It was 100 degrees out, we tee’d off around 1:40pm. No one in front or behind us. All was good. The cart girl came around 3 times. It’s a minus that there’s no water available but other than that the course looked good.
This course was in good shape
The course was in good condition and pace of play was good except there was a foursome in front of us that was, well I don’t know what they were playing but they were back tracking, walking 30 yards then going to get the cart but other than that love this course!!
Beautiful day. Hot and slow
Played a nice course with some good guys. Not good golfers but lots of entertainment. So, the challenges on the course didn't always get the front seat. Greens were good, rolled well. Fairway grass was full and made hitting the ball a pleasure.
No water available
The course conditions and layout are great right now. It had been a while since playing there due to a history of slow play out there. It’s still quite slow due to the difficult layout but my biggest complaint is that they have no water jugs along the course. Its extremely hot here in Texas and I’m not so concerned with water to drink since they do have a beverage cart out but I like to keep a wet towel to clean my equipment and a separate towel to keep as cool as possible. The lack of water made my experience less enjoyable for such a nice facility.

two thumbs up about your review. NOT!!!!... NOT!!!!! a $100 course!!!!!!! 50 bucks at best!!!! Nothing spectacular about the course middle to below middle of the road course!!!!!! Employees there need a class in customer service!!!! WILL NOT BE BACK UNTIL I HEAR OF CHANGES BEING MADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
