Challenging but fun
I wasn’t expecting a great course for such a cheap price on a Saturday afternoon but the conditions were really good and the greens were really fast but well kept, pace of play was great as there was nobody before or after us for a while and had no hold ups at all, tough layout with blind tee shots and big trees in the middle of fairways but a really fun experience
Course superb ....pace of play a watch out.
The course is fantastic, however the pace of play is a watch out, at one point there was 7 people in 3 different parings waiting on the tee box.
This can happen at any course though and I will certainly be back to try this course again. Exceptional value for money if you time it right.
Control
Hi, can I suggest a Marshall. There are people jumping on the course without paying and because of the nature of the course it’s easy to move around different holes without playing them in order. A sign of some control via a marshal would speed play, improve revenue and stop arguments/ frustrations as you suddenly have a group you’ve never seen before appear in front of you.
Quite challenging
It was my first time playing at a 18 hole course, having played at the Laurels, Highfield and Oak Royal numerous times i found the course quite challenging. I looking forward to playing there again soon and hopefully to play a better round.
Disabled Golfer
Buggy cost is expensive without any reduction for disabled golfers.
Great Muni
First time playing here and would definitely come back. Course is in good condition overall, greens are a bit patchy in places but nothing too bad. Great value for money
Greens very fast…
Played a few weeks ago before all the dry weather and then this weekend. The greens are lightning fast due to dry weather so we’re a good change from last time. Course in great condition. Could have been playing in Spain really….
Greens
Only played 14 holes. The greens on nearly all of the holes played were pitted and marked/damaged. Putting away an absolute nightmare on most of them.
Some challenging holes and in very good condition.
The course is in great condition and we were lucky enough to have some great weather for April. A few of the greens are showing a bit of damage and were a bit bobbly but overall it’s in great condition. Nice easy walk too. Can’t wait to play it again.
Shame about the greens
It’s been many a year since I played here and wasn’t I won’t be rushing back. Great course, great community feel but the greens are atrocious - every one was diseased and close to un putt able.
Greens could be better
Played yesterday. Have played many times and never had a problem very nice course to play. Yesterday the greens were in poor condition, mainly due to the many scruff marks and missing tufts of grass all over on all the greens affecting the roll of the ball. Shame as it's a very playable and enjoyable course.
Seen better football pitches
Some of the worst greens i have seen for many years
Will be a long time before we play again
Good course poor greens
We have played this course before, it’s a nice course but this time the greens were in very poor condition.
Should be closed
I have played this course for over 25 years 15 as a member and I can honestly say it’s in the worst condition I have ever seen it £28 to play in what I describe as a farmers field absolutely shocking stay well away
Good layout but in really poor condition
I have played the course a few times before but I will never play it again in the winter months, fairways and semi rough where like mud forever looking for balls this in turn caused people in front to play slow, it took nearly 5 hours to get round , my brother travelled from Bishop Stortford to play golf over the weekend we played Cleckheaton on the Friday and there was no comparison I think you need to go there and get some tips on how a course should kept
Good Condition for Winter Golf
We played our first round of the year on 8th February 2025 and the course was in good condition overall, considering the time of year. The course wasn't as boggy as expected and most lies were comfortably playable. There were a couple of temporary tee mats where a few tee boxes had been returfed, but overall a good experience and fairly similar overall to the summer golf experience.
