Good course, slow play
Good course, excellent condition. Greens, bunkers all in great condition.
Course should look at longer Tee times between groups. Ended up waiting for majority of holes after hole 5, with a group breathing down our necks.
Avoid!
This is the second time I have attempted to play Duxbury and on both occasions the course has been awful.
Admittedly there was rain the previous night but we are talking pathways totally bogged down and balls being lost due to plugging on the fairways (yes the fairways). This course should have been closed it was so bad but instead I wasted £36 on the golf and nearly 5 hours navigating through mud and slop.
Fellow golfers do yourself (and your shoes) a favour and stay clear of this farmers field of a golf course.
Mud Bath
This course plays like its got zero drainage. Shocking sloppy mud in and around the access to the tee boxes and walking off like and assault course. Terrible. wellies are advisable in these areas, and this is not being sarcastic
Not only do most of the fairways have atleast one area of wet ground, ive never lost so many balls plugging on the fairway or just off. Greens are lumpy, no real point in taking aim past 6 yards.
At a loss how to recommend how to improve this track. Maybe just make all aware of the conditions and lower the price when its playing like Glastonbury.
Second Chance
Gave this course a second chance due to poor weather last time. Weirdly we have had a week of great weather and if anything it was worse. Boggy everywhere pretty much, tee boxes not great. Greens were ok but everywhere else you were struggling.
Tee times don’t seem to be monitored as groups just turning up and starting.
Would not be booking again.
Beautiful setting and great course layout
Very popular course, great layout but slightly boggy in places, condition is really good considering all of the rainfall we have had lately and the club house is really friendly. Will definitely play here again the scenery is lovely and so tranquil.
Lovely little course
Great little course little heavy underfoot but the greens where in decent condition and some challenging holes
Boggy
Played before in warmer months and really enjoyed it . This time around really boggy in places. Long round build up in play.
Still a descent course and challenge would not put me off going again just bad weather.
Been a few years
Bit boggy in some places but it’s understandable due to the amount of rain we ve.
Course should of been closed
Great track but given how waterlogged it was it should have been shut.
Wide Open
Given playing in the winter and the rain has been relentless recently, this is a great course, wide open so there’s almost always a shot to be played. One or two wet fairways but can be expected with the weather.
Greenkeepers a pain
Was first off at 8 and grrenkeepers were going around to rake bunkers and just pulled their buggies up IN FRONT of the green I was approaching then on the next hole I was about to drive off and drove straight up towards the tee. The course itself was in average condition with fairways not much better than the rough there are some good holes but was very disappointed and don’t think I’d return. Was really pushed by a single player so much so twice he played to a green I was walking off filling my scorecard in but can’t blame that on the course just some idiot that can’t wait
Duxbury excellent course
Duxbury excellent course, condition and beautiful layout and scenery
Scenic course and great value
Some Nice scenery and overall well kept course. Not the most challenging but no doubt, a fun course to play. Beer and food served after the round as well which is always good.
Excellent course
Great greens, course amenities are good and course management is what you expect for a public course
Great course
Had a great day
Played with a 4ball and we all enjoyed the course great day out
Awesome course
This course is in excellent condition, especially given the resent weather. Staff are very friendly. Having only recently retaken up golf after a 30year hiatus, this is becoming my favourite.
Well kept
I have played this course a few times but they put up the green fees which brought the price to the same as other courses which are better, we got the green fees at £25 each which is worth it and cheaper than normal and the course is well kept, some tricky holes but a good challenge, one thing to mention is that when we arrived a staff member asked us if we had booked it on golf now and they then gave us a card to book directly with them in future not sure why
Duxbury
Course in great condition and will play there again soon
