Very nice
totally enjoyed playing at elfordleigh today. It was my first time playing here and the first few tees were a little tricky to find, but apart from that I cant complain
Hidden gem
Played here today in atrocious weather after the 4th hole but we percivered and I think we were the ones out lol.
The course as some really nice holes with a fair few hidden dangers so be careful. We found the greens although a bit patchy you could attack them and I imagine in dry conditions you would get some good spin. The par group of holes 10 11 and 12 are worth playing time and again the look is like a painting with all the water the elevated tees and greens. You need to play steady on a few of the holes lots of narrow fairways with o/b and well placed trees.
We will definitely be back hopefully if the hold a open or two
Excellent
Course was in great condition especially considering how much rain we have had. Nice and friendly staff too and a little bonus sale event in the pro shop for a bargain jacket purchase before teeing off. Excellent!
Elfordleigh
We had a fantastic day at this beautiful course, greats were in great condition. Some amazing views & picturesque holes.
Bit of a hilly walk in hot weather, but a nice bar with good food to recharge the batteries at the end of the game.
An amazing round of golf
From the welcoming reception in the pro shop, to the well manicured fairways and greens, and then the service at the bar afterwards. A great day of golf! And I won ;)
Hilly
Lovely looking course but a bit hilly and up and down. Course was a bit waterlogged and would be much better when dry. Greens quite small and some kept footprints after you walked on them. Will try again in the summer when I think it will come into it's own
Good parkland course
A good golf course played in good conditions. We could take our time as we had no other golfers around us until the last couple of holes. Some of the greens were a bit patchy and had unrepaired pitch marks but course in good condition other than that.
Nice knock
Pretty parkland course. Not particularly long but fairly tight in places. Very sheltered from the weather, worth a visit.
An enjoyable challenge
A very good course and a great layout. Seemed like there were very few straight holes with bunkers to catch the unwary. Course and greens in good condition, bearing the weeks of hot dry weather we've had. Look forward to playing it again.
Class!
Almost empty, lovely setting & course well maintained - highly recommended
Beautiful scenery
Whilst not the longest course this is the certainly the most pleasing to the eye.
The dreadful weather meant that some of the greens were becoming waterlogged which spoiled a bit of the enjoyment on the day, but all agreed it was well worth another visit!
Awful greens and poor drainage
Played at this course on 10/04/15. It was a 9 hole course some years ago and the 9 hole extension is not the best having to utilise out of bounds markers in the meddle of the course as they squeezed the holes into too small a space.
The greens were atrocious. There were numerous bare patches including where previous holes had been cut, and the grass was so long it was clearly seeding. They can't blame the weather as it had been extremely good. At one point I considered using a 5 iron as a putter when putting some distance from the hole as the greens were so slow.
The golf club is clearly struggling, especially since the new Boringdon Golf Club opened its doors.
I certainly will not play here again unless the golf society unfortunately books in for next year.
