What a let down and so very SLOW
After 2 rounds of golf at some great courses we moved to play Formby Hall championship course, OMG what a let down. The overall course condition was no better than a local municipal course with little attention to some of the tee box’s (forward tees not cut).
We walked off the course after 13 holes which took over 3.5 hours, we spoke to people on the 16th tee and they said they were out for 4.5 hours! On these timings 18 holes would take 5.5 hours totally unacceptable. There were no marshals on the course, when we spoke of our disappointment to the pro shop we were told that they didn’t always have marshals if a number of members were playing.
Overall a real disappointment and a wast of our time and money as there so many great courses in the area. Give this one a miss!
This course never has or will be worth £90 a round it was overpriced at £40! Joke prices
Awful course and complex
I would not play here again. Driving range is ok but balls are all chipped. Staff re very rude and unhelpful the old course is not in great condition and is very overpriced. Greens are shocking, fairways are not great either.
Far too slow and had to miss two holes
Decent course but very slow play meant we cut out two holes. The playing partners decided to play the front 9 twice as it just took far too long.
A bit overpriced in truth
Great Course
I find this course very challenging, long par 4 & 5, and for a beginner like me it’s perfect to work on my 2nd and 3d hits. Great staff and course in great condition always.
Great Parkland Course
Formby Hall is an affordable gem on England's Golf Coast, if you are looking for a nice course without paying the prices of the more well renown courses in the area look no further.
My flat mates and I first played Formby Hall in the winter months where the course had survived and dried well in comparison to other parkland courses in the area. Holes 14 and 15 can sometimes retain the wet due to their lower nature in comparison to the rest of the course, by overall the course has always been in fantastic condition. We are now members at the club and play at least once per week, rarely being disappointed with the quality of FHGC. I have now played FHGC more times than I could even count, and would strongly recommend to golfers of all abilities.
Every hole provides golfers with different set of challenges with bunkers, water and distance making Formby a true test of golf. There are a number of attackable holes on the course and it is important to score well on these where possible.
Very good vfm
Virtually had course to ourselves! Greens still quick despite recent rain, fairways excellent. For price cannot complain.

Wrong time
It would help if teeofftimes actually gave you available tee off times. Not arriving and being told their system doesn't tally up with the golf course's and having to wait for the next available one
Formby Hall
Considering rain for two days prior and on the morning of play. Tee off 4pm drained superb and course played exceptionally well. Played twice recently and gave not had any hold ups. Greens in good condition.
