Horrific conditions
The course is in an absolute state and I find it remarkable that they have the gall to take money off people for the tee times here. The greens have next to no grass on them and were essentially dirt and grass seed. We will not be coming back to this course again and would advise that nobody else does.
Forget it!
Arrived at 9am looking forward to our 1st round since lockdown, alarm bells rang when there we discarded beer bottles across carpark. Greeted by friendly staff member who pointed us in the direction of the first tee.
Course layout is good but condition awful. The worst greens I have ever seen, no grass at all just brown mud with cuts running through them. Scruffy unkept course with rubbish and beer cans strewn about.
We will not return
Friendly coyrse
Great to get a game after so long. Course not in bad condition apart from greens which were completely bare!
Poor
Understandable that the condition will not be up to scratch at the moment with everything going on, however the greens were brown. Barren and with no grass, leaving them also cracked in places. Still keepers were out mowing (not sure what they were actually mowing) and we were made to wait on several greens whilst they finished.
What a joke
Played this course what a absolute joke ..it was the worse course I've ever played the greens haven't got any grass on them and are all cracked due to not being watered at all
Frodsham
The greens are in a terrible condition, covid 19 has caused staff being furloughed, but this is unplayable. £20 a round is totally wrong until they improve the course conditions
Appalling
The condition of every green was an absolute disgrace. On approach to the first green I thought I was in Mumbai about to play a cricket match. The golf club should inform paying customers prior to accepting any money.
Disgraceful
Worst greens I have ever played on in over 30 years of golf ..... terrible condition, cannot distinguish the greens from the fairway at all they are that bad and bunkers are awful.... and this is May ! Have played other courses since easing of the lockdown and theyve been in excellent condition so this cant be an excuse. Suggestions are they're building a children's nursery which appears to have shifted their focus away from course maintenance. It's a disgrace to be charged £20 a round......rip off. Would definitely not recommend playing here .... complete waste of time and money.

Greens not green
On the positives, I felt the course layout was great. Plenty of variety to the holes, the fairways and first cut were fine too. The negatives. The greens are just shocking. I’ve seen pitch and putts in parks for £3 with better greens. So to pay £21 and not be able to putt was really disappointing. I fear they are that far gone it could take over a year to get them back playable, such a shame as the layout was right up my street.
Do not play this course
Never have I played a course With greens so bad that you cannot tell the difference between fairway and green
How they can ask for £20 to play is unbelievable
They should be offering people who book a partial or full refund it’s an absolute disgrace
If you book this course be it on your own head but I guarantee you will walk off disgusted if you don’t walk off before
Good to get out.But
The course needs more up keep.no yardage markers, greens in a bad condirion no deffinition between green and faiway and on a few greens no grass.couse short of watering.presume no sprinklers.
But a reasonable game in this covig situation.
Needs lots of tlc
After months of not playing I was extremely disappointed at the so called greens. They need lots of help ,cracks and no grass ,worst I have ever played on.
LEFT TO ROT!!!!
It’s a shame to see this course looking so awful. Greens are bald, cracked and in need of a good watering. Seems that since the new owners have taken over it they have ruined what was a great course in the north west. Wouldn’t play here till they sorted things out. Not worth £20 .. £10 at a push. Can’t see this course lasting long if they don’t approve these.
Greens unplayable
Credit where it's due, the starter managed to squeeze us in after we'd booked for the following Saturday by mistake. However the course has been left to rot during lockdown it seems. The greens were the worst I've played on, easily- I've played cricket on grassier wickets.. Would strongly advise not playing this course until the greens situation is rectified, and it's highly unlikely that's going to happen this year. See image and you'll understand the issue.
Never one to leave a negative review but I think £20 is robbery for a course in this condition and any potential visitors should be made aware.
Worst golf course I have played
I played here many times in the past last few years not as much. As the let too many people through and the greens Weren’t up to standard, they have sold off the clubhouse. It’s now going to be a nursery, no clubhouse. Worse than that no grass on most greens. I understand all what is going on around covit19. The cup is flush with the green it should be 1.5 inch below cup. The greens haven’t seen any water since lockdown. All cracked and dirt and sand seen small amounts of grass seed. And the have the cheek to charge £21 joke never going back there.
Dont bother
Played Monday afternoon definitely the worst greens I have ever played on. No grass on any of the 18 holes .no .clubhouse . No starter .quite easily could of walked on without paying .booked through golfnow .should never be on any golf website as a golf course absolutely awful .
Wont be returning
Awful
Terrible condition, used to be great this course. Now just left to rot
Course good, greens bad
The course was playing reasonably well after the dry weather, and glad to be out playing after lockdown etc, but the greens were abysmal
Practically zero grass on most, some looked like a wicket with big cracks etc in - don't really understand when they have had 3 months of no one playing how they can be in such bad shape, especially when other courses have managed to keep their greens playable
Would be better once the greens are sorted
Greens should be Green
The course has obviously not been watered at all during lockdown and it seems has no staff maintaining it. The greens were just hard mud with bits of grass and were easily the worst I have ever played on. The course should be closed, or at least bookings called beforehand and warned.
