Very flat
First time playing here, very flat and straight. No major deep bunkers or much water.
There are large walks between holes which is slightly strange and the 9th isn’t anywhere by the club house so you can grab a snack (they do have a half way house but I was closed when I played)
Personally I would go back to the old course lay out to reduce the large walks over fairways etc…
Late afternoon round, as a single player
Working locally so thought I’d pack half a set of clubs and take advantage of some spare time.
Welcome from the pro shop was excellent, especially as I called to rearrange my tee time, as I was running late.
Changing rooms available, although the new door code caused a few problems, then off I set.
Course isn’t overly long, and the dry weather made it even shorter.
Greens were a little slower than my home course, but receptive and pretty true.
Biggest disappointment was the fact the bunkers ( yes, I hit a couple of the better placed ones) weren’t raked and the signage between a couple of greens & tees could be better.
I was let through by every group I caught up with, which was refreshing, but the club house was closed when I completed my round, which was less so!
Overall, it’s a little over priced at £25, but it’s a tricky test and a lovely walk on a summer evening.
Disappointed
I've played here before and really lovely course, and the staff are incredibly welcoming. I was very disappointed on this occasion our ever as I paid full price for green fees and they had temporary greens, I do not believe you should pay full price when this is the case.
Awful
18 temporary greens. Teeing off mats. Having to use fairway mats. £30 is an absolute joke. Won't be spending money there again.
Great condition
The greens are firm but that’s everywhere at the minute.
Much more than a wedge it’s tough to hold the greens but what I would say is that they’re all consistent and are flat and true.
Never have a bad experience here
Really nice course
A lovely course to play. Staff and other golfers were very friendly. This was my 1st time playing at Girton with my Son.
We both had a great day.
Good but could be better
Course has been neglected and was in decent condition but has been much better.
Will be interesting on next visit to see what nick it’s in.
Overall, good value for money
Great Course
Please note that the trip to this course will come at a price. If you can remove yourself from the snotty nature of a minority, but a minority that is significant, of the members, then this is a track worth paying to play
Terrific Parkland Course
Absolutely fantastic course in perfect playing conditions. Very good pace of play, well kept tee boxes, fairways and greens. Rough was cut to a perfect level, enough to offer a challenge for a miss-hit shot, but not too much that you’d lose a ball every time it wandered off!
Could not recommend this course more, if it was any closer to me I would become a member in an instant.
Great twilight round
Really quick round as most groups playing in pairs. A mixture of straightforward and tricky holes. Good course conditions.
Excellent
Really enjoyed this course. Played as a single ball (Off 21) while in the area. Nicely laid out course with some good testing holes. Very scenic too. Members very friendly. Slight downside was pro shop is going through refurb so not quite the same service available. Would defo play again.
