Quirky
We found the course on GolfNow app and payed £20 for a quite remember able course. I have never tees off over a green, had to shape a shot on a par 3 and had multiple hazards off the tee (hanging trees) . Definitely a thinkers course which I look forward to playing again. With 18 holes up or down is a challenge to play and definitely a workout!
Up and down!!
Course in good condition and greens fast.. very hilly being of a certain age would of been better hiring a buggy.. Overall good a good but tiring day was had.
Quirky layout but good
Apart from the layout as several holes cross each other a really nice course on good condition. Good greens and very friendly staff.
Great course
Fantastic course in excellent condition, good hole variation and the greens were in really good condition
V Nice
A cracking course....
Very friendly staff.... well kept and some well thought out holes! A few holes were a little confusing as it was our first time and also very hilly..... but will defo be going back
Well worth a visit
Successfully bid for a four ball round here in a charity auction. Well worth a trip. Warm welcome from all staff, friendly members but the course was what made it memorable. Not overly long but slick, tricky greens, driveable par 4's that could bite you, and a beautiful four hole stretch (9-12) that would test any level of golfer. Navigation round the course wasn't straightforward and a bit more directional signage would have been appreciated. Also, its very hilly in (most) places, so carry at your peril. It wasn't nearby either (2 hours drive) but we will definitely be back for a second shot next year
Not for me
Too many cross over holes , members refusing to let you play through, holding you up every hole, course held up well considering the recent weather , pro really friendly and helpful
Value for money
Great course and excellent value for money. Greens in incredible condition for the time of the year. Also green keepers going around sucking up the autumn leaves making finding your ball easier. Highly recommend Halesowen golf course to everyone.
Leasowes
Very friendly ,helpful staff . Enjoyed every hole . Will return . Very up and down ,we had a buggy.
Tight course
Enjoyable game and some interesting holes. Course had some tight fairways, would play again.
What's not to love?
We played here on Bank Holiday Monday after 12 hours of biblical downpour which left parts of the are flooded. The course was in immaculate condition and remarkably dry. The only downside was most of the bunkers were rock hard with little or no sand in, possibly due to the rain and a number were missing rakes.
It's a lovely course and we'll definitely be back
Excellent condition
The course was finely manicured and played beautifully. The greens were immaculate. Staff were very helpful, one even rescued my trolley when it ran away downhill on the 18th. It is a bit hilly but I managed it and I'm 71. It lost a star only because some of the fairways cross. Very pleasant day out. I'll be back...
Good course but a lot of cross over holes
Me and my friends enjoyed the round. The fairways and greens were in good condition. The only issue was the amount of holes that cross each other which meant there were balls coming from all angles. But overall a nice course to play.
Had an excellent round ,course in very good condition, greens excellent.very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely play there again soon.
halesown golf club visit in may 2017
We played on 04.05.17, we found the welcome friendly, the clubhouse is a real gem and we ordered a hot meal prior to our round, (we travel around the area and try and play as many courses as possible) the menu was good and the food also very good at a very reasonable cost , however the day was slightly marred by us being given a buggy which the chap in the pro-shop advised was slightly dodgy with a rather hit and miss accelerater pedal....(only one available) in fact it packed up completely on the 12 tee, so we had to head back to the clubhouse and find another.....it was sorted out though! the course is well kept with some interesting challeging holes if a slighly odd layout? but sadly as we have said many times a lot of these members clubs which are now opening themselves up to more vistors need to make sure there is proper signage around the course!! the members are fine but we found Halesowen the worst to date for navigating from tee to tee.....we only saw 3 signs pointing to the next tee position! one other troubling thing on the day was on two occasions we had golf balls raining down very near us on the green when we were putting out, this is clearly a very dangerous and rather stupid thing to do! you would had thought folk would have more common sense really....to conclude I would say any score under 95 here and you've had a good day!! at our handicap of 18 that is. Dorian J Collins. Worcester. W Mids.
Great value challenging course
Arrived late yet no problem and a member arranged for me to join a 3-ball, very friendly. Course harder than you would think from yardage, short par fours tricky around greens and some difficult long par fours. In good condition for early season, when greens speed up could be fun! Well worth a visit at a great rate late afternoon. Crossing holes did not seem a problem.
