Fun course but wasn’t worth £28!
The actual golf course is fun, some tough holes and some tricky greens, and yes it’s hilly I was pretty knackered afterwards. We were just coming into autumn and there had been pretty good weather, the greens were rough and slow and the tee boxes were pretty woeful… Maybe I just arrived at the wrong time I’m not sure? It’s a public course so lots of friendly people walking around and lots of dogs which I don’t mind at all
Overall I did enjoy it but thought the course should have been £15-20 but at £28 I’d expect a little bit more maintenance especially on the greens.
Return visit.
Considering the weather and lack of rain course was in good condition and greens very good, lots of variety and definitely recommend.
Lickey hills
Don’t expect too much when you go here Probably the worst course I’ve played in 40 years
Were we the only ones who paid?
A really good course for a municipal, decent tee boxes and greens in good nick. However, it was apparent early on that pace of play would be painful. In addition to this, there were people entering the course with full sets of golf clubs from every possible angle. Leading me to think that we were the only ones foolish enough to have paid.
Still a great course on a budget
Played here for the first time in 15 years and still a good challenge with some interesting holes that will test you. Staff very friendly. Despite quite a few people playing the pace was good. Fairways on longer holes were well cut and defined from the rough. The course are doing a lot to get greens in good shape but they are very varied in quality with some have lots of patches and cracks but given the scorching weather we have had not too bad. Bunkers need some attention, shallow sand and stones but that’s part of the challenge! A decent course taking account of the £17 fee. Would play again.
Slow…….
4 hours and 20 minutes to play a very short course is disgraceful
The 4 ball in front were playing in a pairs competition playing better ball so there were only two balls in play after the drive
They were spending 10 minutes on every green playing just two balls
Scenic!
Lovely scenic course, would be fantastic if it was a bit better looked after & a bit of investment, greens need a bit of TLC and divots replaced. Overall a really nice course though! Would play here again.

Hot dry day
Beautiful setting for a golf course. The topography
means there are a number of blind drives across hillsides The course was being watered but was suffering because of the drought. This is a council owned course but good value at £27
Lots of dog walkers but generally friendly staff, players and walkers.
Poor pace of play
Pushed our tee time back due to them putting a comp on with out our knowledge. Started of as a 2 ball then a 4 then a 5 ended up as a 7 ball at the end. 10:30 tee time finished at 16:00
Reasonable
I’ve now played this course 3 times, played each round midweek for £15 which is very good value for money however I wouldn’t be prepared to pay £30 as advertised on weekends as there are better courses for the value. Layout is good, greens need attention all over (maybe better since I played in writing this review) overall I would recommend if you are paying £15-£20, public pathways all through the course be prepared for walkers and dogs off leads running across the course
Could be great - but just not looked after
So much sand on the greens they’re basically bunkers. No exaggeration. People constantly walk on and play from the 3rd hole and clog everything up and no one ever checks that the people playing have actually paid.
Poor Greens & Dog Walkers
As explained in the shop on arrival, the greens had been hollow tined a few weeks earlier and due to the warm dry weather since the greens were not at their best. That was an understatement! The greens were pretty much unplayable, surly a reduced green fee should be given ?
On to the dog walkers, I have never seen so may people/families walking their dogs across/around a golf course. We had to wait on several occasions or risk putting these people in danger. I know the local area is parkland and would have assumed that locals would stick to the parkland but they seem to prefer to wander all over the course instead
Poor conditions
The scenery around the course is lovely and picturesque but the actual course I thought was poor. Green and fairyways I thought were poor. It was backed up and pace of pay was poor. Staff were lovely, plenty of refreshments.
Poor Greens
Overall course was good, Greens however were very poor and let it down
Disappointed to be stuck behind a pair, sharing clubs and coaching on their way round
Greens need sorting asap
Played this course many times before and usually impressed with the hole variation but today the state of the greens were shocking and decided to stop playing after 9 due to the state of them, won’t play there again until the greens are in a playable condition.
What a shame
Could be a lovely course but local council owned and not a penny spent. Greens are like a pinball machine, tee Luke a badgers set & prepare 6 hours for a round as they set tee times 7 minutes apart! On and mind the 100s dog walkers, teenagers have booze parties, and ramblers! Apart from that it’s spot on!
