POOR PACE OF PLAY
Can’t fault course. Staff. Anything about the venue.
We followed a seniors comp. We were a good half hour behind last group. We caught up within x3 holes. We got a snide comment from one of the group who said “ you are brave following a seniors comp…..” I asked why and got a reply saying. “ your in for a long day”
Yes I get slow play in a comp but 5hrs come on.
Thing got very slow after 9 holes as half way house was open and think most people stopped for a bit of lunch.
We waited for x3 groups to tee off. The last 9 was painful.
Again no reflection on hazel grove GC as course was fantastic but I would recommend ringing pro shop to see what if any comps are on.
Beautiful condition
Excellent condition, really fast greens. Very enjoyable
The river gulleys proved a nightmare
Fabulous condition course, brilliant and friendly pro, varied holes and at Golf Now fair value for money- please keep it that way and we'll keep coming back @ £27 p.head.
Lack of communication
Wasn’t told that we had to use winter mats before teeing off and wasn’t told that the back 3 teas weren’t to be played on, felt a bit uncomfortable as we were pulled on this halfway round, overall we won’t be going back it was a bit embarrassing
Lovely course
Lovely course in good condition despite the recent dry weather, greens were particularly good.
Very friendly service in the clubhouse.
Great Course Friendly and welcoming
Having booked our tee time the Pro from Hazel Groove phoned me within 10 minutes to let me know they were currently doing maintenance on the greens and said we could swap our tee time to a later date. I thought this was really nice. We did play and really enjoyed the course. Lots of variety of holes and the greens which were still to be done were excellent. Fairways are great and I felt it was a really fair course. We will definitely be going back! Thanks again the the Pro.
Ignorant members
I was playing on my own and stuck behind a fourball for 12 holes and not once did they offer for me to play through. I know a single golfer has no standing on the course but I would’ve been out of there way within a few minutes whereas I was waiting 5 minutes every shot!
I ended up walking in after 12 holes
Very poor
The course however is fantastic

Honestly I cannot fault anything apart from missing a crucial putt on the 18th!!!
Quality greens
Although we’ve had a dry spell the greens held well. They were good quality and pretty true. Tee boxes a little tired and patchy but the rest of the course was fantastic. Looking forward to a return visit
Great Course
The greens were in perfect condition and very friendly staff. Would definitely play again. The women's two ball in front of us made us wait on every hole and wouldn't let us pass. We could've shaved an hour of our round if they had some etiquette.
One of the best courses in the North West
A course which caters for all, challenges in all the right places, greens run wonderfully and smooth. Overall a lovely facility which I would go back to.
Excellent course in great condition, especially the greens
Excellent course. Quite challenging but well worth the effort. Great welcome in the pro shop. Greens in fantastic condition considering all the great weather we’ve had lately. I think we were unlucky as the pace of play was very slow, due to a Society in front of us. Put this course on your must visit list.
Exceptional
This was such a nice experience. Testing but at times forgiving. We’ll definitely be back. Great facilities and good food and drink which was very fairly priced.
An excellent course...
Given the season, the course was in excellent condition; manicured fairways and aprons, well-kept greens and clear signage. Welcoming and helpful staff. High recommend a visit! 🥃
