New Mills Golf Club

New Mills is a great course with challenging holes. Ranging from huge Par 5s to short, technical Par 3s. With the 16th hole showing the highest elevation loss from the tee to the green that I’ve seen in a long time. The pro-shop is friendly with great resources and the club house and bar does very nice drinks and food.

I really enjoyed this course. It’s short but has plenty of character with some tricky holes. Will be back.

The course was in very good condition and the greens were superb.

The front 9 are my favourite.

The views across to Kinder Scout and the setting amongst the hills is first rate.

The weather was great which makes such a difference.

All in all, a really enjoyable afternoon.

My first visit to New Mills, and though the course was very well laid out and looked in good condition. There are some spectacular views as you make your way around the short yet testing course.

My only negative for the visit weee the greens that were very bobbly and very slow just like putting through treacle.

A thoroughly lovely course. Front 9 with stunning viewers of the Derbyshire hills, the back 9 more nestled in trees then opens up to views of Manchester in the distance. Great course to play and full of quirky holes, and challenging whilst remaining inviting

I booked and played 18 holes with one of my sons, both of us are new players, being a senior a little more difficult for myself.

The members we met and the staff were all friendly and helpful.

Lovely views especially on the back nine, some challenging holes and a couple of unusual ones.

Over all it was a great few hours spent and will certainly be back to.play again

Myself and my son, went along for 18 holes, booking was easy, this was my first time playing New Mills, having recently taken golf up in my senior years.

We were made to feel welcome from arriving, friendly staff in the golf pro shop.

There was an Easter mixed 4 ball tournament in progress, these club members were very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic panoramic views especially on the back nine, and nice range of holes, and a couple of interesting ones, being new to golf it was quite challenging at times, but this did not stop my enjoying a nice few hours.

In the club house had a nice hot sandwich and hot drink.

An enjoyable day and good value for money, living a short 20 min drive away, I will be back.

The course was in great condition, tight fairways and good greens. The sun was shining but the wind was howling. Very enjoyable.

Played New Mills GC a few times now. Some quirky fun holes plus some to test your driving on. Greens and fairways/mown areas all in good condition. Recommend for any level player

First time playing New Mills and wow, beautiful course. Some challenging holes and some easier ones. The par 3 16th was a highlight with some unbelievable views. A 200+ yard hole but around 50yds downhill. The pace of play was poor as I'd come on the day of a competition and had 4 groups in front of me, I was playing alone, so couldn't get any rhythm going. That being said I shot 88 and as a beginner I was over the moon! Most of greens were in very good condition, but some fairways were spongey and waterlogged, that can be forgiven though due to amount of rain and time of year. I would definitely play this course again and look forward to seeing it in summer conditions.

The staff in the bar were great, very welcoming. Same with the club pro.

Played late Sept and course was in good condition. Fairways were excellent. Greens ran well though some were more damp than others. Very slopey front 9 and a couple of blind tee shots on back 9 (had to walk to the top of steep hill twice to view the landing area for tee shots). Would definitely play again. Bar staff were exceptionally friendly and served us a lovely breakfast. Greens have plenty of subtle and obvious borrows too

Fabulous course with two differing 9’s. Well maintained, challenging holes, amazing views. Will be back soon.

Really enjoyed the course 2 nines on opposite side of road.

Narrow fairways a really good challenge and some really fun par 3’s. One only about 90 downhill and one 200 down a mountain.

Would be brutal in winter I’m sure but the sun was out and the greens were running perfectly.

Firstly the guy in the shop was fantastic

I was booked in at 2.10. However after politely asking if I could join one of there comp groups so I'd know my way round and saving time he immediately said yes.

The members I played with outstanding friendly very nice guys

Do I recommend it yes might not be the longest but definitely a course you will enjoy conditions were brilliant all round thumbs up
