Course
Disappointed with pace of play. Being slowed down from people on front and being. Pushed along from people behind. Lovely day spoilt from rushing as we were a 4 and those infront/behind were less! Grass was also really long on fairway compared to last visit.
However I love the course. Just hope this doesn't stop me coming back.
Reasonable value for the money
Course not in best condition, teeing areas not cut, pre fairways not cut, fairways ok, greens good. Average course, not much excitement to be had, good place of play, pro helpful
Excellent course
Considering the amount of downpour we have had the course was excellent. Very impressed and will be back
Great Cheshire course
Fabulous course. Lovely layout. Bit damp today, but to be expected. Go play it!.
Great find, will be back
£16 on a hot deal, this was the only tee time on here, not sure why, expected to be put in the middle of a ladies' comp or something but place was half empty. Never even knew the course existed!
Greens some of the best in the area, quicker than most places but not unfair.
Fairways were fine. Not too many hazards, but the rough is deep enough to lose a ball in and makes the course harder than it looks.
Par 73, couple of 200+ interesting par 3s, finish on back to back par 5s
Small driving range as well to warm up before round. Didn't use any facilities due to corona so can't rate that either way. Guy in pro shop friendly enough
Will definitely play again. Was ~22 degrees - reckon will be hard in winter if the rough is still that deep
Good for the price!
It is a good course for the price. Understandably a little wet in places - even greens, due to recent weather. Didn't like having to pair up with another pair when booking on line, but luckily they had moved off before we even reached the first tee.
The overall impression of the course to how it was the last time we played the course was that we thought it was 'a little untidy'. 'Not as tidy'.
Found the course a fair challenge some long par 4s for the average golfer . The only down side was the fairways needed a cut they were quite long on some holes .All in all a good course with the hot deal.
Well impressed
Albeit this is only the 3rd time I've played Heyrose and it's rained each round, the course was in immaculate condition considering the weather.
Mad dogs and golfers go out in the midday sun.
We had an excellent round here yesterday in 32c sunshine, having found a good deal on GolfNow for somewhere new to play.
On arrival the club has an excellent feel as you enter down the long driveway and we were made to feel very welcome by the chap in the pro shop and also a pre drink in the bar. Needing new balls though the choice was limited in the shop with only two options for new balls and no cheap second hand balls which as an inaccurate novice I’d usually go for.
Onto the 1st which was a slightly odd looking hole cut off from the rest of the course. Almost felt a bit like a temporary hole in a field. The proximity to the pylon lines was also brought into play as my opening stroke hit one so keep low off the tee. After this though the course opened up into a lovely course with nicely open and forgiving fairways, challenging bunkers and beautifully kept greens that played lightening fast even after rain. The only negatives on course were that the marker posts for each hole were tiny and some you had to work to find, also the signage to the next hole could be improved as a few send you on a walk away from what looks like the closest and correct option. Only small issues though as we really enjoyed the course.
We enjoyed a couple of drinks on the terrace by the 18th after and the chap on the bar was very friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely look to play here again soon, although the sheer length of some of the holes means that it would not be the best for my 10 year old as they are quite daunting in distance at times.
Overall a very nice course and a good challenge for a relative novice. Thanks Heyrose.
Top Notch
Driven past many times over the last few years as the course is near my in-laws....and always fancied a round...popped up on GolfNow.....so thought now is the time then!
Wasn’t disappointed, lovely course. Well maintained, challenging however very enjoyable. Some long par fours and those final 2 par fives are a great way to come in!
Highly recommended
Nice find
Just of the m56 a nice course with some challenging tight holes mixed with some dog legs where position off the tee is key
Great course and in excellent condition
Played here for the first time and I was so impressed. There are some really challenging holes and particularly long Par 4s and Par 3 on the sixteenth. The ground staff should be commended on their work as the course is in fantastic condition.
I will definitely be back. Thank you
