Perfect Course
Great Course in fantastic condition , well laid out with some great holes , will definitely be back if I’m in the area
Enjoyable Challenge.
I played Puckrup Hall with my son as a Bank Holiday day out. We’re both off 16 and had 32 and 35 Stableford points off the yellows. The course was in great condition, with flat tees, smooth and reasonably fast greens, an interesting and variable layout and wide enough fairways not to take the odd errant drive. Some fairways were a bit patchy. The bunkers looked ok but thanks to careful use of my Shotscope V3 I didn’t sample them. I had played the course 20 years ago and the layout had changed since then, but keeping most of not all of the original holes. We finished the day with a pint of Stella on the terrace watching others attempt to match our pair of pars on the final hole. We’ll be back !
Great course
Greens were as good as I’ve ever seen them, it was club championship day so I imagine they were as quick as they could cut them so made putting interesting. We teed off in the afternoon so only paid £22.50 which is a bargain for this course.
Good course need to work on the other bits
Have played here 3 or 4 times now and always enjoy the golf, the corse is kept well and in pretty good condition. Has a wide range of holes from quite tough to great birdie opportunities so encouraging to high ish handicapper like me. The thing that lets it down is the staff are not exactly very engaging, especially at the bar in the hotel side it’s all just a bit matter of fact. The man in the pro shop was a little more normal but still just served without any chit chat. Whole thing seems a bit more corporate than friendly golf club
Puckrup
First time using this App, I didn’t realise, when booking with GolfNow that you could be teamed up with other people, however, it wasn’t a problem as the two guys teamed with us, Paul & Ian were excellent company. It was an great golfing experience, the course was in wonderful condition ( which my golf wasn’t) and staff very friendly, will definitely be using App again.
Very enjoyable
This is a gem of a course - water, plenty of challenges, long fairways, tight fairways, imaginative hazards - it packs the lot into a varied 18 Holes. Obviously as expected restrictions due to covid take away certain aspects of the usual ext- but overall they have adapted the environment very well
COVID 19 Game
Great game, course is in good condition, and greens were well looked after, only down side was no buggies were being hire out, because of COVID restrictions
Perfect day at Puckrup
Having managed to find a dry day in between long spells of rain we expected the course to be packed but were virtually alone for the whole round and thoroughly enjoyed our day. Obviously there were patches of fairly damp ground but mainly on the 14th & 15th and some of the bunkers had water from the 10mm of overnight rain but overall the course was in great shape.
A smart course for a smart hotel
The course is very well presented and a test for all golfers.
Considering the amount of golfers on the course there were no delays.
Some of the raised tees on the front 9 have a wow factor and make you reach for a camera phone.
Cleverly placed water and bunkers give you a choose of going big or laying up.
Defo will play again
Great course - poor clubhouse
We have played this course many times and always enjoy it, it is one of the best value for money local to us in Cheltenham. The course was in excellent condition and greens very fast. The only thing that lets it down is the clubhouse - it is part of the Hilton chain but the food is always slow and never on the warm side as it has to be walked outside from the hotel to the clubhouse. The course is the reason we play and not the clubhouse facilities. In fact this time we waited over 20 minutes for 3 pints of Henry as they had to go across to the hotel for orange, we got our food first!!!! Will always play here though.
Perfect Course, Terrible Round
Everything was setup for a great round of golf. Sunshine and an empty course (due to going out first) but sadly my golf decided to take a day off and I posted a somewhat embarrassing score.
However! The course is very good and the staff are only to willing to help out with any requests you have. The greens were quite fast you soon adjust and only the bunkers were disappointing but, to be fair, the recent heavy rain had compacted the sand making it hard to chip out (unless it's me).
After the golf, there is a small bar next to the golf reception that you can buy drinks and snacks in or you can sit outside on the terrace and watch other players come in.
I will definitely try to return this summer when I'm in the area.
Slow Play And Rude Members
Overall the course is in good condition and greens are true. Bunkers need some attention and more sand! Overall main issue was the pace of play. Too many large groups all starting around the same time lee to waits on each tee and fairway shot. This wasn’t helped by a group of members who would not let faster groups/players play through. On more the one occasion the group would stand on the next tee talking until other groups approached then rush there tee shots and mumble stuff at the group waiting. Not a great advert for the club or game!
Picturesque course with some interesting holes
Lots of bunkers (but not a lot of sand!) and a good amount of water to negotiate make the course both attractive and fairly challenging.
Variety of holes is a great feature
Have played this course many times and always enjoy the variety of holes and challenges. Today there were a couple of issues, the first cut of rough needed to be slightly lower, often searching for a ball just off the fairway and the bunkers need some new sand, the club often bounced off the base of the bunker. Greens very quick.
Thoroughly enjoyed our game!
The course was in pretty good condition considering it's early in the season. There are quite a few areas on some holes where badgers, rabbits have caused damage that need attention as could be quite dangerous if you didn’t notice a hole in the ground. Some pretty holes and it was very quiet, being Easter Sunday, felt like millionaires golf. Good showers afterwards with nice big towels.
