Slow Play
Very slow play, took 5 and a half hours to play 18 holes due to a members competition off the whites, we were then approached and asked to not play off the whites as we were not in the competition, but this is a very short course with only one par 5. Holes also intertwined into each other and a lot of flying golf balls and fore shouts.
Slow play
Very slow play, took 5 and half hours to play due to a members competition off the whites which most of them shouldn’t have been playing in. We were also confronted and asked to not play off the whites as we were visitors not in the competition, seeing as this is a very short course with only one par 5 this was a ridiculous ask. Most likely wouldn’t play again, definitely not if a completion is going on!
Go there
I have gone here a lot - a great all round course for all handicappers. It’s a bit tight for some newer golfers- good course layout and well thought of hazards- not the longest though- only one par 5 - but play!
Great course
Lovely well maintained course, have booked to play again
Huntswood
Lovely course well maintained, very polite and helpful staff
Friday funday
Well worth the money but beware of slow play in the afternoons.
No different to elsewhere though really.
Enjoyable round of golf
Nice course and very well priced. Open but with quite a few internal out of bounds. Fairways currently a bit patchy in places but greens in very good condition. A bit slow due to following some beginners. Very friendly staff and good looking club house (We could only sit outside due to COVID-19 restrictions). We will be returning to play there again.
Perfect course for all type of players
We love coming to Huntswood. Friendly all around.
They have recently done the areas around the tees up and we take our hat off - looks brilliant and everything you need is now in place.
For us it is perfect as we bring our dog who is always very welcome.
Course is only par 69 but can be very tricky even for a great golfer. Course layout is super - meaning different type of holes and if you hit a good shot you never get punished unfairly.
Short but some great hopes
Although fairly short and fairways very close to one another, the course offers a test for mid range golfers to those just starting out.
Being accurate off the tee positioning for the approach shot is important for scoring well and being aware of the out of bound markers!
Staff very friendly and attentive.
Could be better
Firstly it was a busy day and numerous 4 ball groups ahead of us and on most holes had to wait for them to finish the hole before teeing off. If you're a beginner can pretty much tee off once the group is halfway. Again don't really need the driver until the 18th 5 wood or hybrid good enough on the longer holes.
It's a challenging course in that you've got to time your shots as close proximity to other tee boxes and greens. If there's not a green on eitherside will likely be a tee next to your target hole. So be prepared to shout fore on a regular basis -
2nd time here and course not as good as last time, approached and surrounds need work some bone dry cracked - but all said still an enjoyable round and will play in the summer.
My friend was asked to produce ID as wouldn't serve anyone under 25 and both well above that was an unexpected damper - so if you look younger remember your ID
Snowy start!
Really nice little course, fairly short but challenging par-4s throughout. Can get round fairly quickly
Good but no rush to return
As a high handicapper I found it a very challenging course with steep hills and some long par 3s and 4s. However the most annoying thing was how close OB was on most holes. With holes being side by side, if your ball went at all left and or right then you’re on the other hole which was OB. Likewise there were a few holes which had OB just right of the tees which was in a private field and unable to get your ball back. Greens were very fast but good condition. Was good to try it once but wouldn’t be in any rush to return.
