Great course shame about the lack of food and drinks available
The golf course was great to be honest, a bit dry. It that is the case with most currently, greens were lovely they rolled true and consistent true out.
The game away was only spoiled by the very limited option available to both eat and drink afterward which is such a shame.
Great course for the morning
£40 for a weekend morning tee time is rare to find for these parts, and this course was lovely for that price. Excellent condition, well placed hazards, and some certainly challenging holes. Did get a bit repetitive towards the end, as it is a very par 4 sense course, with only 1 par 5 and 3 par 3s, but overall a good experience.
This course has great potential to become one of the best value-for-money golf courses in Berkshire. If the club were to add a warm-up driving range to its facilities, it would elevate the venue to a top-rated golfing destination while also generating additional revenue to help maintain the course throughout the year.
It also has padel courts, which provide an excellent alternative activity beyond everyday golf and broaden its appeal to a wider audience.
Investing in a driving range would significantly enhance the overall experience and, in my opinion, increase the venue’s value tenfold.
Early Saturday Tee
Nice course, though very slow greens and the fairways were a bit ropey. We were out first so whizzed round. All in all pretty good value
Golf Day
Met by welcoming staff in the pro shop. Course is flat and yellow due to the lack of rain. However greens and tee boxes in good shape and we're being tendered to whilst we went around the course. It was a Monday morning so not to busy at all.
Challenging course
Lovely course, a little bit of walking between some holes. The rough is really rough so prepare to loose a few balls. The greens were really good. Over all good experience and would go again.
Great challenge and fabulous layout
Having played many courses in the area, South Buckinghamshire comes out as the best value for money course without question. It’s a real challenge and such a good layout with some really tough Par 4s and a couple of lengthy par 3s. The greens are a little slow but perfectly true. All in all I can wholeheartedly recommend it for golfers of all levels.
Very good, mature course
A very nice course and great value for the price. The fairways and bunkers (we play out of quite a few) were well kept, the greens were very good. Staff were friendly, especially at the bar which was a nice area with a relaxed outdoor area overlooking the 18th. Overall, we were impressed. We will be back again.
Very nice course
Its such a nice course. Friendly staff.
Good layout, challenge, hazards and difficulty. Considering it for a charity day out. Very satisfied. Will always play it again
Such great value
We paid £20 each to play and whilst the course condition was a little patchy in places overall this is possibly the best value for miles on a really lovely mature layout. Tree lined fairways and the greens are really good, albeit a little long and slow but it’s a great test of golf in beautiful surroundings and for £20 pounds it is amazing value!!
Pretty and well kept course
Course was in good condition. Good signage for first time visitors.
Nice course
Nice course with greens and fairways in good condition. Only criticism is that the tee boxes were on uneven ground
Been better
I have played here on several occasions and really enjoy the course. I have recently heard that the course is being sold and closing which is an absolute shame it is 1 of the better tracks in the area.
The pace of play was very slow today, it was quite busy and I was in a 2 ball with a very slow 4 ball in front of us that never once considered letting us through.
The whole course could do with a cut, it's the worst I have seen it since playing here. The rough was unplayable in many places, the fairways were longer than usual and the greens were like playing on carpet.
Its such a shame that a decent course is being sold off.
Great course, outstanding value for money
First visit to this course, very nice set up, not too challenging but still a decent test for for all handicappers. Tee boxes and Greens in great condition.....
The huge shame here is this fine course will be no longer be in a few weeks due to what i can only see as financial pressures on the local council. It's a travesty that such a nice golf course has to reduce from It's current 18 holes to 9 holes as I believe it's been sold purely for financial gain for the local authority.....play this course within the next 2 weeks before it's too late
Shame it’s being reduced to a 9 hole course
Played here many times
Course in good condition given the recent weather
Greens in good condition
Very good value for money
Staff always pleasant
Unfortunately soon to be a 9 hole course !!!
good value although not a great course
I am a high handicapper and the course is OK, for a better player probably too many very short par 4’s would recommend on value for money and availability but would not recommend to a very good golfer.
Greens a bit lumpy, grass could have been shorter, ball bobbles a lot on puts.
However for 20 GBP for 18 i have no complaints, fairly average courses in the area charge double or triple that.
