Such great value
We paid £20 each to play and whilst the course condition was a little patchy in places overall this is possibly the best value for miles on a really lovely mature layout. Tree lined fairways and the greens are really good, albeit a little long and slow but it’s a great test of golf in beautiful surroundings and for £20 pounds it is amazing value!!
Pretty and well kept course
Course was in good condition. Good signage for first time visitors.
Nice course
Nice course with greens and fairways in good condition. Only criticism is that the tee boxes were on uneven ground
Been better
I have played here on several occasions and really enjoy the course. I have recently heard that the course is being sold and closing which is an absolute shame it is 1 of the better tracks in the area.
The pace of play was very slow today, it was quite busy and I was in a 2 ball with a very slow 4 ball in front of us that never once considered letting us through.
The whole course could do with a cut, it's the worst I have seen it since playing here. The rough was unplayable in many places, the fairways were longer than usual and the greens were like playing on carpet.
Its such a shame that a decent course is being sold off.
Great course, outstanding value for money
First visit to this course, very nice set up, not too challenging but still a decent test for for all handicappers. Tee boxes and Greens in great condition.....
The huge shame here is this fine course will be no longer be in a few weeks due to what i can only see as financial pressures on the local council. It's a travesty that such a nice golf course has to reduce from It's current 18 holes to 9 holes as I believe it's been sold purely for financial gain for the local authority.....play this course within the next 2 weeks before it's too late
Shame it’s being reduced to a 9 hole course
Played here many times
Course in good condition given the recent weather
Greens in good condition
Very good value for money
Staff always pleasant
Unfortunately soon to be a 9 hole course !!!
good value although not a great course
I am a high handicapper and the course is OK, for a better player probably too many very short par 4’s would recommend on value for money and availability but would not recommend to a very good golfer.
Greens a bit lumpy, grass could have been shorter, ball bobbles a lot on puts.
However for 20 GBP for 18 i have no complaints, fairly average courses in the area charge double or triple that.
Did not play
Course was closed due to bad weather, still waiting for a refund
Winter mats but at least brush the ice of them
I know at this time of year you put up with frozen greens and winter tees but I would expect at least brush the frozen ice off tee mats very poor
Like being on a building site
Myself and a mate played the course on Wednesday 10th December 2025.
The course was well, fairways so muddy and wet, the greens very slow due to be soaked.
My opinion they should have not been open.
Another bad point every tee box was off a mat and the mats were awful as it was so hard trying to get a tee peg into them.
Will not be going back again
Enjoyable course
My son and I enjoy playing here, it’s a nicely laid out course
Good quality for a decent price
This course is a nice layout and a fair challenge of golf. What you get for the price matches some of the more premium courses in the area for half the price - value for money is unmatched in my opinion. Pace of play was a little slow but when you’re having a good time at a reasonable price, I am not complaining. Keep up the good work greens team!
Course was okay
Greens were dry, no water in the water hazards - course needs some TLC
Great value for the money
The only negative comment was no hot food avaliable. Besides that I would say probably one of the best value for money rounds I have had in a long time
A Good Course To Hit All Shots On
As stated in my title, a good course to hit all shots on.
The condition at this time of year is very dry, albeit, the greens are in very good condition for a council run course.
The rough has been cut back & has died in a lot of places due to extreme heat.
Price is reasonable given condition of course. The bunkers from hole to hole are not consistent. A lot without enough sand & some with too much in my opinion.
The long (ISH) par 3's on the course are very good.
A few drivable par 4's on the course as well which adds a bit of fun to the round. Definitely will keep visiting.
Fantastic Greens
Tee boxes and Greens have been kept so well despite the continuous hot weather. Best we had played on in a very long time
