Huntswood Golf Club

Played Monday morning at 9.55 - seemed to have timed it just after the senior roll-up… pace of play was painfully slow with no attention to letting groups through or groups trying to play faster. The layout is not conducive to fast play with several short holes early on and most inviting call-ups etc. In the end walked in after 14 holes when people weee starting to shout in frustration. If you like 5 hours for a round on a 5200 yard course, this is your place!

Course needs marshalling and some messages to players to play briskly and allow others through etc..

Course is quite short but overall was great value for money. Staff were very welcoming and friendly in pro shop and club house.

Would be great if the course had a few more features and lengthened.as it is in a nice setting.

Fairways were in poor condition but the greens looked very green so expected them to be good. However greens were cut too long and very slow. The course has potential to be very enjoyable but the conditions meant it just wasn’t worth the value at £30 per head.

Nice course in very good condition, all staff very friendly and helpful.members also friendly and chatty will definitely play their again

Only one par 5 so not a long course but some challenging par 3 and 4s. Course is well maintained for a pay and play and it drained well despite torrential rain on the previous day. Good value for money too.

Very busy today not helped by people playing a 6 ball infront

Had a brilliant round at Huntswood, largely back to normal for access to pro shop, bar and other facilities. A friendly welcome when checking in.

Teed off bang on time. Course was in great condition following a longish period of dry weather. Greens were in excellent condition and the whole course was very tidy. There have been a few improvements made since I last played here, and there’s work to repair or re-seed the 14th tee box, so the temporary tee is . Play was at a good pace, no hold ups. Best part was my play, a round of 85 with 8 pars, my best at Huntswood yet.

A great course, great value for money, highly recommended.

Too expensive for a course that has too many crossover holes, I suppose its an expensive area to live

Very slow play, took 5 and a half hours to play 18 holes due to a members competition off the whites, we were then approached and asked to not play off the whites as we were not in the competition, but this is a very short course with only one par 5. Holes also intertwined into each other and a lot of flying golf balls and fore shouts.

Most likely wouldn’t play again, definitely not if a completion is going on!

I have gone here a lot - a great all round course for all handicappers. It’s a bit tight for some newer golfers- good course layout and well thought of hazards- not the longest though- only one par 5 - but play!
