Course in state of disrepair
I've played this course once or twice before. The layout is alright and lends itself to potentially challenging holes but the conditions were poor and in some cases unplayable. I paid £35. It was hot, had clearly been hot recently but the greens and tee boxes just aren't looked after. The photo is of the 1st green, 2nd tee box. I gave up taking photos but I was just shocked that this was deemed playable.

Friendly Course but poor condition
As title says, the course is in a poor state. The greens are in extremely poor condition. The fairways are better but not great either tbh. It’s a nice layout using the small space and the people who work there are very friendly but the course needs some TLC.
Ilford golf course
The worst course I have ever played, the greens are unplayable and the tee boxes have no grass whatsoever! Shame as has some nice laid out holes but just so poor condition. Not even worth the £35
Good value for money but course is getting worse
Been here once before and was impressed by the quality you get for your money. It was different this time. Almost all greens were completely burned and very difficult to play - the ball would bounce off during approach shots, and putting was guess work. The majority of bunkers were GuR. They also paired us with other people and double booked the tee time with the result that we were 7 people who wanted to tee of at the same time + 4 people who had the slot before us and teed of too late. In all fairness, once we were playing, pace of play was good for a Saturday. Also, given that many other London courses have heavily increased their prices for this season, 35 pounds feels like a fair price.
Course is in no condition to play, especially at £35
This course used to be a great short course with little challenges throughout. Its current state is shocking, the tee boxes have no grass and have weeds growing out of them. The greens are potentially some of the worst I’ve seen, no green on them at all. You putt and hit overgrown bits of grass mixed with cracks. I paid £35 with 3 mates, £140 total. I feel like the course state should be advertised when paying that price.
The staff are lovely however and can’t be blamed for the state of the course. Would not recommend playing this until the problems have been fixed.
Used to be in good condition
The staff are friendly and you can't fault them. Almost none of the greens had any grass. The course is dry, bunkers in poor condition. Bridge still collapsed into the stream. Used to be a decent course but looks very tired
Course OK, but …
The course is tired and in need of investment to tidy it up, but we enjoyed our walk even with the main road hum beside it. Won’t be going back, not because of the staff or the course but …. the golfers in the bar beforehand who felt the need to use the ‘F’ word loudly every sentence. I can swear but it was aweful - in front of golfers, women and a child. A complete lack of tespect
Excellent value for money
Challenging but great course Fairly flat but greens do roll well.
Great for novice and experienced golfers. The Elizabeth line is fairly near and is a feature on the 16th hole which is one of 2 drivable par 4s for the longer hitters.

A very good golf course very good for new starters. All the fairways are very very straight and only a few good water features but if played smartly you shouldn’t lose too many balls very very good course very good for beginners and very good for one a day out in London Playing golf the course was very good for what time of year we played which was Christmas Eve wasn’t too muddy and could still play a good
Ilford on a Wednesday morning…
Course was empty as expected, greens were rolling pure. The course is short in length but offers a variety of required shots, including shaping the ball and carrying trees/bridges.
Good course layout
Enjoyable course. First time here. Good to see they have a practice net to warm io and a chipping green but the fairways are awful and dry and the greens have multiple divots in them and very slow and bumpy.
Still over all enjoyed the day but not sure if I’d return
Worse course I have ever played
Condition was so poor. Greens, fairways and tee boxes were all in an atrocious condition.
The new local
This is my 2nd time playing at Illford golf club. It’s a good and challenging golf courses looking forward to going back to beat my score.
