Used to be in good condition
The staff are friendly and you can't fault them. Almost none of the greens had any grass. The course is dry, bunkers in poor condition. Bridge still collapsed into the stream. Used to be a decent course but looks very tired
Course OK, but …
The course is tired and in need of investment to tidy it up, but we enjoyed our walk even with the main road hum beside it. Won’t be going back, not because of the staff or the course but …. the golfers in the bar beforehand who felt the need to use the ‘F’ word loudly every sentence. I can swear but it was aweful - in front of golfers, women and a child. A complete lack of tespect
Excellent value for money
Challenging but great course Fairly flat but greens do roll well.
Great for novice and experienced golfers. The Elizabeth line is fairly near and is a feature on the 16th hole which is one of 2 drivable par 4s for the longer hitters.
Aidan waldron
A very good golf course very good for new starters. All the fairways are very very straight and only a few good water features but if played smartly you shouldn’t lose too many balls very very good course very good for beginners and very good for one a day out in London Playing golf the course was very good for what time of year we played which was Christmas Eve wasn’t too muddy and could still play a good
Ilford on a Wednesday morning…
Course was empty as expected, greens were rolling pure. The course is short in length but offers a variety of required shots, including shaping the ball and carrying trees/bridges.
Good course layout
Enjoyable course. First time here. Good to see they have a practice net to warm io and a chipping green but the fairways are awful and dry and the greens have multiple divots in them and very slow and bumpy.
Still over all enjoyed the day but not sure if I’d return
Worse course I have ever played
Condition was so poor. Greens, fairways and tee boxes were all in an atrocious condition.
The new local
This is my 2nd time playing at Illford golf club. It’s a good and challenging golf courses looking forward to going back to beat my score.
The club captain and all the staff are very welcoming to new guests
First time at Ilford
Nice course very wet but worth £30 would come back in the summer
Quirky layout
Some challenging holes over water
Quite tight layout. Entrance off residential street, was easy to drive past. Enjoyed the day. Friendly staff and good value for money
Very positively surprised
Going into the day with mixed expectations- other reviewers complaining about highway noise, missing signs, and poor conditions in rain - I ended the round with on a very positive note. The course is short, fairways are wide and not much sloped, the sand in the bunkers was dry and very nice to play, and the greens were in excellent conditions. It’s an excellent course to boost self confidence and having fun. It’s also surrounded by tall and pretty trees who absorb a good amount of car noise.
It was sunny, so can’t comment on rainy conditions. But considering it’s central location in London and the fair price for a round, I can recommend the course to anyone.
Untidy course
I was disappointed with the course, some bunkers lacked sand and had weeds. Greens were very dry, some needed a lot of water. The tees were also in poor condition. I will try again next year
The fairways run across each other
Very dry course. The tees are so dry you break the tee putting it in the ground £80 for two. The fairways run across each other so you have to wait for someone on the next hole and the one after to take a shot. The photos aren’t accurate. No water features
