Did the job.
Played this course after a little last minute free time appeared. Got a round for £10 so wasn’t expecting Augusta. What it is though is a decent little track, not the most challenging but it allows you to keep the swing ticking over until you decide to hit the proper courses. I don’t go I in the summer it would be a little better as it was waterlogged when I played and be prepared for a LOT of civilian traffic. However if you’re in the area and you just need a quick little knock to scratch the itch then for £10-15 you can’t really grumble.
Good fun to get round, wouldn't go on a weekend or nice day
Overall good course with some fun holes, par 5's an opportunity to lower your score with open fairways but a bit of a challenge to one of them making it more interesting. I would play there again but not on weekends as it is so open I can imagine a lot more dog walkers and others which were apparent as you would expect on a parkland course but manageable in the week on a cold day. Personally I wouldn't go on the weekend because of this.
Fog cold fun
Thank goodness golf is back, despite the fog and cold and general winter weather had a really enjoyable round. Fairways a bit water logged and muddy but perfect greens.
Dog on the Greens
Was having a god round of golf until this happened on two occasions, both on par threes I had hit the green and then a dog managed to pick up my ball. both owners spent at least 5 minutes trying to get their dogs on leashes and to retrieve the ball. completely ruined my round and felt very underwhelmed after paying 20 odd quid.
Great value round
Nice challenging round of golf, only real gripe was the number of people walking through the course without a care in the world !
Lost in translation
Dog walkers on fairways, signs not obvious to direct traffic, queues to tee off. List goes on...
People come from everywhere
First tee time, but by the fourth hole people were just appearing in front of us.
Decent
Course was in pretty good condition, greens were decent for October too. A few too many dog walkers and other people cutting across holes around the course though.
Pleasant surprise
Interesting course, in good nick. Greens had just been tined but that's par for the course at this time of year. Enjoyed it and will definitely return.
Nice enough course
Nothing wrong with the course at all, it’s actually picturesque in many places, the greens were decent and the fairways well looked after.
It’s a personal note but my friend and I got stuck behind the slowest 4 ball on earth who didn’t let us play through. Very frustrating. Not the clubs fault and of course, it’s a public course son it may be a bit rich complaining about it but it just kind of sullied the day. I mean..... one of them shot 16 on a par 3 - it was that slow.
Nice course, would play again.
