Quirky layout
Some challenging holes over water
Quite tight layout. Entrance off residential street, was easy to drive past. Enjoyed the day. Friendly staff and good value for money
Very positively surprised
Going into the day with mixed expectations- other reviewers complaining about highway noise, missing signs, and poor conditions in rain - I ended the round with on a very positive note. The course is short, fairways are wide and not much sloped, the sand in the bunkers was dry and very nice to play, and the greens were in excellent conditions. It’s an excellent course to boost self confidence and having fun. It’s also surrounded by tall and pretty trees who absorb a good amount of car noise.
It was sunny, so can’t comment on rainy conditions. But considering it’s central location in London and the fair price for a round, I can recommend the course to anyone.
Untidy course
I was disappointed with the course, some bunkers lacked sand and had weeds. Greens were very dry, some needed a lot of water. The tees were also in poor condition. I will try again next year
The fairways run across each other
Very dry course. The tees are so dry you break the tee putting it in the ground £80 for two. The fairways run across each other so you have to wait for someone on the next hole and the one after to take a shot. The photos aren’t accurate. No water features
Challenging Course
Played today for the first time. We were 2 ladies who struggle to break 100 so are would usually only play from the reds both for our game and to help pace of play. Shocked to be told on arrival that visitors can only play from yellow and when I explained told that we had to play yellow especially as some directors were out playing today.
Course was generally in good condition but some of the greens could have done with some work. Admittedly it's been hot recently but more the sort of greens I'd expect at a pay and play or 9 hole.
Everyone playing was friendly and it was a lovely day so minor gripes overall.
A course where you can carry with now issues
A nice course for golfers of all abilities. There are some hazards, but not too many, so a couple of spare balls will be needed.
There is ample space in the fairways and around the course, some of the holes are not well signposted, but with a little bit of wondering and help from a friendly member you will quickly find your way around m
A nice flat course which will not leave your legs sore by the end of the day.
My parents played there, they liked it. It is a nice clean clubhouse with very friendly staff Wilm.
Great value but rough around the edges
Ilford is a great value course that I probably play every few weeks. It's excellent value and a twilight round is often very quick. The greens and fairways are excellent but it's let down by the parlous state of the tee boxes and the penal state of the rough, just off the fairways. They tend to leave the mowed grass on the ground and it just swallows balls that should be findable. It's incredibly frustrating.
It's a short course and for £20 you can't complain too much, it's just frustrating that it could be excellent if they just did a little bit more maintenance around the edges. Pace of play is absolutely great, we whizzed around in 2:30 as a two ball and it's generally a similar pace on weekdays.
Great course
Well kept course in good nick good value for money
Unique for sure.
Really interesting setup next to the motorway. Seeing graffiti on big concrete structural pillars behind a green almost felt unreal.
Played at 4pm on a Saturday and we only saw a handful of others which made it feel like super chill. Some fun hole designs. Greens were patchy quite a lot but other than the course was in ok condition.
Good course in Central London!
Really close to central London by tube! This course is a nice and challenging one. A few hazards to avoid made it fun to play!
Fun round of golf
Enjoyable round. Not too hard and not to easy, perfect for an average mid-high handicapper like me. Very friendly staff and great location 10-15 minute walk from Ilford station.
Nice London Course
I love coming to this course - there is a lot of diversity here and a lovely clubhouse to hangout in after your round.
Course conditions during the winter were excellent considering and I can't wait to play here in the summer
The only downside to this club is that warmup options are limited to practice nets.
Great course
Cannot complain at all, great course and in mint condition during winter as well!
