Situated at the base of the Gore Mountain Range in the Rocky Mountains, Vail Golf Club is a mountain course with beautiful scenery provided by Gore Creek, which meanders through the layout, and the White River National Forest that rests adjacent to it. The golf course features flat, tree-lined fairways and medium-sized greens, both of which are well protected by numerous bunkers. The golf course plays through towering trees that demand accuracy. There are also several beaver ponds throughout the golf course that come into play on several holes. In addition to the scenic round, Vail Golf Club also provides practice facilities including a driving range and putting greens.

Very enjoyable course with the exception of the greens being a little too firm and very hard to read..

The fairways were in very good condition. The course is well maintained. The layout is very interesting and scenic. The greens were pretty firm with lots of subtle undulations and slope which made putting very difficult. The grass on the greens was extremely short which made the greens quite fast and difficult to putt.
Overall, a very nice course to play.

Perfect Vail Day

We parked out in the back 40 of the lot, but as soon as our trunk opened someone was there to take our bags to the cart. Check in was easy and fast so we had plenty of time to hit balls and putt before our round. Started right on time, and pace of play was great, right at 4 hours (on a Sunday) leaving plenty of time for a patio lunch. Cart girl was prompt and made good drinks too. Course marshals we very friendly and had trivia questions and prizes if you got them correct. ( I got them both wrong, but my wife got them both right) Course was in excellent condition and greens rolled true. Couldn't ask for more!

Fun course, challenging; in good shape for June

Vail Golf Club has done a remarkably good job of getting the course ready for play this early in the season at 9000+ feet. Winter in Colorado this year was harsh, in terms of lack of snow and extreme cold early followed by heavy snowfall late. Nonetheless, the greenskepers in Vail have the course ready for play.

The course provides a challenge for better players and yet is playable for people who shoot in the 90's. With five sets of tees, including the farthest forward for the disabled and young golfers, there is a tee for everyone.

The greens are currently in good shape; excellent for this time of year (mid-June) on a Colorado mountain course.

I highly recommend it as a good value for the money.
