About
Situated at the base of the Gore Mountain Range in the Rocky Mountains, Vail Golf Club is a mountain course with beautiful scenery provided by Gore Creek, which meanders through the layout, and the White River National Forest that rests adjacent to it. The golf course features flat, tree-lined fairways and medium-sized greens, both of which are well protected by numerous bunkers. The golf course plays through towering trees that demand accuracy. There are also several beaver ponds throughout the golf course that come into play on several holes. In addition to the scenic round, Vail Golf Club also provides practice facilities including a driving range and putting greens.

Temp greens ruined the round
5 temp greens were a huge disappointment. Closed greens were fine. No explanation why they were closed.
Course under repair, and slow play
There are several greens under replacement with temporary greens and one hole closed. The pace of play was slow and the course Marshall’s could not increase the slow groups pace. Since on time overall, although back nine was 25 min longer than par!, he felt he was not able to do anything. Always two groups waiting to tee off from 11 til the end. The rough was VERY deep and especially around greens. Looks like it hasn’t been mowed in days. Greens were slow but expected at this time of year. Layout on front nine is a bit boring but course is fun.
Excellent course, great staff, and great restaurant
The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The course is one of the most challenging and unique in the valley. Short, but you need to hit the fairway because the mature trees will make life difficult if you're playing from the rough. Great restaurant for lunch as well.
Vail Golf Club
Beautiful course. Improving par 3, but accommodated the skipped hole with a temporary par 3. Staff is wonderful and the food in the restaurant was fabulous!
Nice driving range and putting green.
Great day and course
Just an excellent experience. Kudos to Deacon who shared the back 9 with me. He’s a Ranger for the course who had the day off and rep’d the club well. Great staff and accommodations.
Beautiful Golf Experience
From the moment we arrived the staff greeted us placed our clubs in a cart and directed us to the beautiful club house.
Our tee time was confirmed went to the driving range and played a Beautiful golf course. The mountains were spectacular the fairways plush and the greens were meticulous.The staff was friendly and helpful.
So beautiful. All four of us really enjoyed the experience.
Vail Golf Review
On vacation Labor Day weekend. Easy to make tee time. Available tee times were convenient. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Course/greens were in pristine condition. Will play again next time I'm in the area.
Awesome scenery
Didn't know what to expect and being from out of town I had to rent clubs. All in was $132 for cart ,clubs,and 18 holes. Course was in perfect condition. Played with a couple of local mountain men and they were a blast. Even gave me a ride back to the hotel. Great day and great golf course!!
Friendly staff and great pace of play
Pace of play is great - we finished 18 in 4.hours. Very friendly staff, especially the starter, Mark Scott. Some of the greens were a little rough but overall the course is in good shape. Really enjoyed golfing here.
Greens were poor
Several greens looked like they were just aerated within the last couple of days, and were almost unplayable. Temporary green was used on one hole, and played very short. Not a very good experience, however I did find a cheap tee time.

mountain heaven
This course is my favorite. Staff are very friendly and the maintenance it superb. So looking forward to playing there again.
