Situated at the base of the Gore Mountain Range in the Rocky Mountains, Vail Golf Club is a mountain course with beautiful scenery provided by Gore Creek, which meanders through the layout, and the White River National Forest that rests adjacent to it. The golf course features flat, tree-lined fairways and medium-sized greens, both of which are well protected by numerous bunkers. The golf course plays through towering trees that demand accuracy. There are also several beaver ponds throughout the golf course that come into play on several holes. In addition to the scenic round, Vail Golf Club also provides practice facilities including a driving range and putting greens.

Vail Golf Club July 3 2021

Vail Golf Club is a good track adjacent to I70 in the Vail Valley. The course layout is out and back with some interesting holes along the River. The fairways and tees were in great shape but the greens were a bit slow and shaggy. Otherwise the experience was great as was the weather.

Public yet feels private

The course itself was great, nestled in the Vail valley with amazing views of the gore mountain range. The one thing that blew me away was as soon as I showed up, I was treated as though I were a member at an exclusive club. The staff was friendly, courteous and went out of their way to ensure I was taken care of. I’ve never been to a public course where they load and clean your clubs before and after a round. Bonuses: pro shop has an amazing selection of new merch with a great restaurant above that overlooks the 18th green. Also it’s probably one of the cheapest courses in the area.

Enjoyed it, despite greens condition

Professional staff, friendly atmosphere, great restaurant, awesome views...but newly seeded greens are not very playable...slow,, bumpy sanded and sparse. I assume winter kill issues.

Greens

We were on a trip out west and decided to try Vail , not a good thing, we payed full price and were not told about the alternate greens which cut total yardage by over 300 yards

Was hoping to get a discount but no.,

Course was tight but manageable

Beautiful scenery

Beautiful course. Good value when booked thru a discounter . We had a 5th person not golfing. I inquired and was told that she could ride in our cart for $15. We paid and had her ride in our cart. 2/3 thru the round a ranger told us she couldn’t ride in our cart and needed her own. They never told us that. So they let us play. 1 hole later the ranger returned and told

Us that she was sending a separate cart for her. Ok. Then a hike later the cart comes and after we played out tee shots she said we had to let player play thru. So we drove back and then was told never mind. Good lord what a waste of time and drama. They needed to be clear in their communication especially when we paid and did the right thing.

Keep away

My husband and son played the course with me and we so upset. No one told us about the temporary greens and dug up fairways when we booked. Other golfer that we met were upset and complained with us but they refused to do anything without talking to their boss. Of course we had to leave before we could do so.

I suggest that Golfnow remove them from their list until the construction is done (next year). They should refund all golfers who booked this course without any warning or price adjustment.

NEVER AGAIN
