Disappointed
Booked a round here for my 14yr old son and I, through golf now. We were looking for a good course on our route home, without breaking the bank. This was to be his 1st experience of a 'quality' course.
The tee times were all booked on arrival but no other details transferred to the booking. The guy in the shop was really disinterested, he was the same for another player in the shop too. I found the email confirmation of the booking but for some reason it had saved the price for us both at £0.00. The booking had been made with a price (I think) at £17.00 each. I had not been asked to pay at the point of booking on the app and it stated pay at the course. I had nothing to confirm the price secured and ended up being charged £40 each. It was that or leave.
The course itself did not look like it had been maintained/prepared that day. I appreciate it is Autumn but the fairways were absolutely covered in leaves, the greens however were very good. The play was extremely slow with the round taking almost 5hrs, ahead of us were 2 4 balls then 2 2 balls. We waited on every hole.
A generally disappointing experience, not to be repeated
Great little course, the greens were so fast and true we struggled to start off with. We really enjoyed the round will definitely be coming back
Great experience
Never played it before and as we always enjoy a new track off we went. First plus, car park spaces! Big enough to allow getting gear out of side door! Pro in shop could not have been more welcoming, same for the catering/bar staff. Great breakfast at reasonable price. Pro also let us go out early as tee was clear. Course was good, could not fault the greens, grass still recovering from the extreme summer in a few places on fairways. Only criticism a few more signs to direct to the next tee wouldn’t hurt.
Overall a great day out. Would recommend and we will undoubtedly return.
The Twister
Lovely friendly place with a nice clubhouse and bar balcony area. The layout of the course is great a good placed tee shot is required. Nice parkland with good kept outstanding greens for the dry spell we’ve had. The greens can be two tier of which can be very challenging.
Enjoyable day out
Our first time here and was surprised to find a golf course in such a built up area. Not a very long course but it was all about putting your ball in the right place on the course.
Food was excellent and great value compared to my house course.
Staff want to fight
Had ground staff in my way on loads off holes covering greens with sand on arguing with us they wasn’t doing this to members just us attitude was unreal
Greens in excellent condition
Pass of play was slow, but it was extremely busy. Greens excellent condition.
Excellent course in great condition
First played this course in January, considering how wet it had been the greens were immaculate!
Having gone back for my 2nd visit yesterday (18/04) i was just as impressed with the greens.
It’s a great little course that isn’t long with just the one par 5 - don’t let that put you off, some very good testing holes. Will definitely visit again, great value for money, friendly staff & a good course as well
Lovely weather
Course looked great in the sunshine but mis-read the greens has they were playing slow (putting was awful, just making an excuse). two groups of Three in front and were all mates and were a poor standard and slowed it down, so jump a few holes because we had to be somewhere, but the rest of the pace of play was good.
Very disappointed
Advertised best greens they were actually awful even for the time off year loads of pitch marks, indentations way below acceptable
Disapointing
Last minute game due to closures at other courses, should really learn my lesson and never come back. Very poor layout minimal facilities. On the website it states some of the best maintained greens in the country which was not true at all. It looked at times that some of the members had been chipping on the greens very poor condition.
A pleasant afternoon golding
Good golfing weather and no one in front or behind us, meant that we could enjoy a family afternoon on the golf course. The course was in good condition, but had to look out for the rough just off the fairways which caused problems for the higher handicappers.
As this was our first time here, we found particular difficulty in working out where the next tees were and the older members of our group would have preferred less of a hilly course, but overall we had a good afternoon and will be back at some point.
