Great Value for money

Although the course isn’t particularly long the greens are top class and the best I’ve played on for some time. They have interesting slopes and they run true and at a good pace.

Great greens and an interesting day

Friendly pro shop considering the lock down etc.

Relatively short course but challenging as you really needed to be straight off the tee. A windy day meant that the course was playing longer than the card.

nor busy and it seemed that there was no pressure to keep to the order of the holes. Considering the course is near the centre of Northampton it had a very country feel.

A good round

The greens were in very good condition and were challenging and the fairways were also in good condition.

The only thing I would say is that some the fairways were tight between holes which made for a couple of close calls from wayward tee shots

Great Greens but nothing else

The greens are some of the best in the county .

The members some of the worst.

The amount of swearing in the clubhouse bar was phenomenal.

Golf maybe trying to attract a different imagine but I'm not sure hooligans is the right one .

Play the course, make loads of pars as it's short and easy but go elsewhere for everything else.

Value for money

Good value for money - course in good condition only downside are the balls flying over from other fairways - pretty dangerous and I was nearly hit with a ball on a couple of occasions - other downside ignorance of other players playing of your fairway with no consideration for anyone other than themselves - my experience on the day .

Very hilly in some parts too

Lives up to "gem" reputation

Course in great condition and fairways could be described as lush. Always enjoy playing here. Greens staff had obviously put a lot of work into it.

Worth it for the greens.

Kingsthorpe makes the most of its location with a course that uses every inch of space well

It does suffer from a lack of longer holes and par 5's but this is compensated for by excellent greens..

An enjoyable if unremarkable course.

Lovely old golf course

Really enjoyed my days golf. A windy day which added to the challenge. Not a long course but plenty to keep you thinking. The course is tight in places but generally fair, the green are really good and very tricky, you have to know which part of the green you need to play to. Only minor complaint some of the tees could do with some TLC. Staff were great and the half way house was excellent.

Will definitely play it again.

Return visit needed!

Booked a few days beforehand when the weather forecast was good, on the day we had to contend with heavy rain instead, so only managed 9 holes before calling it a day. We liked what we saw of the course, plenty to interest at our level and some good challenges on the course. We will be back!

Pro shop was closed and the bar charged me £1.75 for a small bottle of water. Course was fairly short but don’t be deceived it’s not easy , a good variation of hole types with fantastic greens

A lovely round

First time at KGC and a great course. With the recent heavy rain and the courses big hills they have managed to keep the course playing well.

Will certainly return!

Hidden Gem

This course is always in fantastic condition and the staff are really friendly. It is a challenging course but that is good. I have never managed to play a good shot from the first tee.!! This is a hidden gem in the middle of Northampton. I have not found a course in the region that is in better condition. Well done to the ground staff.

Hidden Gem

I have played this course about 6 times this year at different times of the year and every time of the year the course has been in excellent condition. Not the easiest course to play but a real challenge.

Inner-city Jaunt

Good course with a great pro shop pro, friendliest man you'll meet in any pro shop. Silly rules upstairs more suited to clubs far more prestigious than this. Course layout is very haphazard, with some holes too long and others too short. Lots of cross play, when it would be easier to move tee boxes to more strategic locations. Regardless, given its very central location and tremendously undulating terrain, it is a hood value course with really well-kempt greens. A credit to any course with as low a rating as this, is to at least get the greens right, which it does. The pin positions were ridiculous, more suited to putt putt courses than a true golf course. This is still a very challenging and worthwhile course, so I'd always give it at least one go. Just be prepared to have a high round if you're not swinging well, like I did. I will play this course again and recommend it to others too.

Kingsthorpe Northampton

After 2 days of rain we expected there to be some water on the course but this wasn't the case. Th e course was in superb condition both the fairways and the greens. Everyone at the course was very welcoming and delightful, in all an excellent day.
