About
Greatwood is known for its white sand bunkers and impressive par 3s, three of which play right at or over 200 yards. The 1989 Carlton Gipson design features elevated tees and greens that sandwich plush fairways and are contoured with mounds.
The 434-yard par 4 hole 5 is one difficult par, featuring a fairways loaded with bunkers and involves water on the approach. No. 18 goes 576, yards. While the tee shot is fairly standard, the second shot must land short of a plateau and might involve a blind approach shot if placed too far to the left. The intimidating approach plays into a green surrounded by water on three sides.
Getting there : From Hwy. 59 south, turn left on Crab River Rd., then make a left onto the other side of Hwy. 59. Look for Greatwood Pkwy. and make another left when you get there.

Man I freaking love this place. Great staff, great course, man hole 10 really gets me cause it’s tough! I’m smoking my first shot off the tee every time into a nice fairway. Greens are always in great condition too. I’m ready for another round right now, who’s with me???
Good place for a hot afternoon
The route is entertaining, the course is good, some areas are very dry but the green was always in very good condition, the snack sales team is very cheerful as is the bartender
Great value for the money
Short course well maintained. We did kit have anyone in front we were able to complete our 18 holes under 3:30 hours. Course and greens are in great shape. Fairways are a bit hard which help a lot with the ball keep rolling. Greens were fast and nicely groomed. Club house is a bit old but overall a great value for the money
Love this Course
Greens will challenge you the fairways were Very Good, Ice buckets needed more ice in them also maybe puta few more out on very hot days.
Choose wrong day
It was raining all the way through while I played. But because of raining, the course was almost empty. Whenever I play this course, I enjoyed very much.
Course is OK at best
Dry, dry dry for God sake get some sprinklers or The Teebox was so dry I could not get the tees to go in the ground. A hammer would’ve been a good idea to drive them in how dry was it? Fairways and greens same way every fairway was just punctured.
In good shape after Beryl
The course is cleaned up and in good shape after Hurricane Beryl. The heat kept others away so I got around in three hours! Worth the sweat!
Old facility but still a good value course for the money
Old facility but still a good value course for the money. Fairways are in good shape, greens are pretty decent. In my case we did not have anyone in front so the pace was great
