About
Greatwood is known for its white sand bunkers and impressive par 3s, three of which play right at or over 200 yards. The 1989 Carlton Gipson design features elevated tees and greens that sandwich plush fairways and are contoured with mounds.
The 434-yard par 4 hole 5 is one difficult par, featuring a fairways loaded with bunkers and involves water on the approach. No. 18 goes 576, yards. While the tee shot is fairly standard, the second shot must land short of a plateau and might involve a blind approach shot if placed too far to the left. The intimidating approach plays into a green surrounded by water on three sides.
Getting there : From Hwy. 59 south, turn left on Crab River Rd., then make a left onto the other side of Hwy. 59. Look for Greatwood Pkwy. and make another left when you get there.

Good course to play and pracitice
Good Public course at a decent price. Fun place, scorable and well taken care of. Fastest greens i have played on for a regular Public course. I really enjoy playing here, pace of play is always fast. Never played more than 4.5 hours a round. It's my go to hot deal track.
Election Day play.
The course was wet due to overnight rain. allegedly there was a 90 degree rule in place but the golf cart shut down if you proceeded. So the cart path only rule was in place and caused slow play.. a few of the holes were very challenging but over all the rest of the course was playable.
Please rain
The course was dry and hard. The greens are so small that there is no front or back only the middle. Only when it rains does it get water.
Great Time
Although the tee sheet was booked, we still got around in 4 hours. Greens were fast and in good shape. Bunkers could use more sand. Cart paths need repaired is some sections. People were friendly and cart girl, Madaline, was great. Really enjoyed the round and a great value.

The course is nice however it is a bit dry and hard. Greens are extremely fast. Great value for the money
Better than expected
Course was in good shape. Greens are ridiculously fast—wasn’t expecting that for sure, but enjoyed it very much. also, good luck with your putting if your ball is sitting above the hole with slight/mild downslope 😂…the severe ones will require great imagination lol
Not too bad
Fairways and some tee boxes were hard and bare, but greens were excellent. Pace of play was a bit slow, but to be expected on a nice Friday afternoon.
Poorly Maintained COurse
The greens are in fair condition but A lot of work is needed to be done all over the course----too many bare spots and big cracks on the cart path. The management should spend some money to improve the condition before it's too late. Or maybe they are trying to sell the course?
