About
Greatwood is known for its white sand bunkers and impressive par 3s, three of which play right at or over 200 yards. The 1989 Carlton Gipson design features elevated tees and greens that sandwich plush fairways and are contoured with mounds.
The 434-yard par 4 hole 5 is one difficult par, featuring a fairways loaded with bunkers and involves water on the approach. No. 18 goes 576, yards. While the tee shot is fairly standard, the second shot must land short of a plateau and might involve a blind approach shot if placed too far to the left. The intimidating approach plays into a green surrounded by water on three sides.
Getting there : From Hwy. 59 south, turn left on Crab River Rd., then make a left onto the other side of Hwy. 59. Look for Greatwood Pkwy. and make another left when you get there.

Under Repair
The course was in good condition however, there were several sections under repair. Also, there was a lot of standing water in various areas of the course.
Great course overall
The course is in relatively good condition. Enjoyed my time but I feel they could lower their price just a little.

Greatwood is a challenging but enjoyable course. Friendly staff and good food.

A challenging course with lots of water. Enjoyable but you will probably lose a few balls.
Tough greens.
Great layout. No pun intended. This is a very long course; I wouldn't recommend walking. Stay in the fairways, hit greens, and if you're above the hole, expect to three-putt. The course is very reasonably priced.
My Review of Greatwood
Great golf course and great staff. The course was immaculate. Great tee boxes, superior greens. More than adequate bathroom facilities. The golf course is beautifully laid out and very challenging.
Bring your chipping game.
Pretty decent shape for this old course
You get a little bit of everything. As with all courses bring a good short game. Some greens are pretty small. Greens were quick and true. Most of the fairways are in good shape. A little paint and some TLC would go a long way for the outside. A ll in all GreatWood I would encourage people to play it.
Very improved!
My last round at Greatwood was fantastic. They have definitely done a lot of work to the course, especially the greens. The staff was also a lot friendlier than I remember. I’m glad this place is improving as much as it is because I love the layout and the price! Will definitely be returning more often.
Improving nicely
Overall Course conditions are very nice compared to about a year or more ago. Pace of play was decent but could be better. We finished on 18 just before it got too dark.
Good course!
Excellent greens and good fairways. However, cut grass on the fairways need removal.
