About
Greatwood is known for its white sand bunkers and impressive par 3s, three of which play right at or over 200 yards. The 1989 Carlton Gipson design features elevated tees and greens that sandwich plush fairways and are contoured with mounds.
The 434-yard par 4 hole 5 is one difficult par, featuring a fairways loaded with bunkers and involves water on the approach. No. 18 goes 576, yards. While the tee shot is fairly standard, the second shot must land short of a plateau and might involve a blind approach shot if placed too far to the left. The intimidating approach plays into a green surrounded by water on three sides.
Getting there : From Hwy. 59 south, turn left on Crab River Rd., then make a left onto the other side of Hwy. 59. Look for Greatwood Pkwy. and make another left when you get there.

The course is poorly maintained
This course design is good but it will need a complete maintainance overall 1). Fairways, 2). The rough, and 3). The greens. The course also need regular sweeping to remove dead leaves.
Great wood gc
Through golf now a great value. Too expensive on weekends.
At this time of the year too many leaves in fairway.
Traps are not in good condition. Not raked.

Really spread out course?! Never played a course so spread out! Lots of water also! Enjoyed the challenge though! Would play again!
Course was in great shape and is one of the tougher layouts in the area. Very small greens with a lot of slope!
Great for my mid game
Great course for my mid-game. Had a great time will play there

Still Great
One of the top new courses in the country when it opened years ago, this course is still great and one of my favorites. Holes 10, 11, 14, 17 and 18 are all beautiful.
One of my favorite layouts.
The course conditions were pretty good this time. I absolutely love the layout! The holes are so interesting. Tough par 3's, a wide range of par 4's and good par 5's. A must play. I drive 1 hour to play this course and do it at least once or twice a month.
Only complaint is the guy behind the counter wasn't very friendly. I made the assumption its because I booked a discounted round on golfnow, but who knows, he may have gotten in a wreck on the way to work... Waitstaff in the grill was very friendly.
Challenging course
For the first time playing this course. Lots of water, small greens. Course was in beautiful shape. Great experience! Will be back.
Great old fashion layout
Course is in great condition. Layout is challenging and fun, keep u on your toes. Back nine more scenic than front with forced carries
Pace of play
Ther only issue I had was I hit my ball into a bee hive on the 5th. I find it weird that it's not busier. But this course will definitely get my business in the future. Great layout, pace of play and nice wide yet challenging fairways. Lots of bunkers to test your accuracy.
Great course with challenging obstacles
This was a great course, and very fun to play. The fairways were well kept as were the greens. Outside the fairways the grass was pretty thick, making it slightly difficult to find your ball. There were more than a few single golfers that we let play through but I’m assuming that was because it was a weekend at and the timing of our outing. Overall I enjoyed the course and plan on returning in the near future.
