About
Greatwood is known for its white sand bunkers and impressive par 3s, three of which play right at or over 200 yards. The 1989 Carlton Gipson design features elevated tees and greens that sandwich plush fairways and are contoured with mounds.
The 434-yard par 4 hole 5 is one difficult par, featuring a fairways loaded with bunkers and involves water on the approach. No. 18 goes 576, yards. While the tee shot is fairly standard, the second shot must land short of a plateau and might involve a blind approach shot if placed too far to the left. The intimidating approach plays into a green surrounded by water on three sides.
Getting there : From Hwy. 59 south, turn left on Crab River Rd., then make a left onto the other side of Hwy. 59. Look for Greatwood Pkwy. and make another left when you get there.

Getting better
Greens in good shape. Traps are still in disrepair. Tee boxes are rock hard.
Bad bunkers
Only complaint were the bunkers. Hardpacked; very litttle sand in a lot of bunkers. Standing water in a couple of bunkers.
Dry
Great layout and very challenging. Greens just punch and sanded but puttable somewhat. Should be good in couple of weeks. Fairways are hard with some cracks throughout . Sand traps are hard with little sand, mostly clay. Need rain!!!!
Still a good layout to play.
Not worth the money
Course was in poor shape as the fairways weren’t mown the greens needed water lots of pitch marks tee boxes and bunkers like concrete. the practice putting green in horrendous condition!! Way over priced for the course conditions!!! Will not play again.
As good as it gets at Greatwood
As long as i can remember... hole 17 green is the hole that tells you if this golf course is in good or bad condition. Its in great condition!

Nice course, pace of play great and friendly staff. 1 or 2 greens need to finish growing in.
Like the course
Like the course better to play on weekdays much faster weekend is a log jam had to play the front nine twice
Quality golf course
Greatwood is all an avid golfer could ask for. Extremely challenging, good fairways and greens are excellent presently.
Good course for the money
Not too busy, nice course, greens could need some attention from the green keeper.
More Decent Than Bad
Pros:
Staff was friendly
Fairways were dry but had enough grass on them
Not too many bugs
Layout is interesting enough
Pace of play was good at least for today
Cons:
Traps are like concrete - look decent but are 100% not
Cart - parking brake didn't work and steering was super loose
Greens were meh. Some sand but not too bad overall. Very dry and fast - couldn't make a divot on them if you wanted to. Had interesting undulation though.

Enjoy this course we had a great time good pace of play good conditions

Greens are back-no bear spots.
Bugs are gone
Fairway are good
Only issue are sand trays need work. Hard packed
and need sand, not clay/sand.
