Very quiet when played at 1
Some nice holes but also some very poor ones greens not in great shape
Great course but needs a few tweeks
Turned up on Monday 1st May with my brother, was greeted by a young lad in the shop who almost shouted at us for bringing our clubs into the shop, although when you enter the main front doors there's no mentioning of leaving your clubs outside or walking around with them. We explained we had a tee-off time, he then realised we'd booked with the website and basically couldn't care less. We asked for a buggy, he said 'no'. I asked why he said they were all taken. A fair answer but not very polite. We then went and practised on the putting green for 10mins or so awaiting a friend. During that time i popped back into the shop to make a purchase, a colleague/friend of the front desk lad sat on the desk whilst i was trying to pay and basically continued to chat whilst i was speaking to him, they clearly couldn't care less if i was a customer. Following my purchase the lad then said 'can i help?!?' in quite a rude manner, i replied yes could i have my receipt and he then asked......WHY ? i said did it matter, he said 'most people don't want it' and almost angrily snatched the receipt from the machine and left it on the side for me to pick up, not even passing it to me. A disappointing start to the day for my party. We had 3 groups in front of us, 2 four balls and a three ball, the entire round took over 5 hours, the two four balls were so slow, stopping and chatting with each other and just taking too long. Also at the end of the round (4:15pm) we went into the bar where we were told that the chef was 'too busy' and was refusing to take any more orders so we were left no alternative but to go elsewhere. Great course, beautifully kept, sadly the staff employed were rude and the food situation at the end of the round was not good enough for a afternoon finish.
Course had a great layout but greens were patchy
The course was interesting enough with a few interesting doglegs. There were some short but tight par fours for the brave to take on the greens. There were also some very short par 5 (from yellows). Enjoyable but spoilt a little by a very slow group several holes ahead.
The greens were the only really disappointing thing was the greens as many were patchy and the ball bobbled alt. Strangely I still sunk several long putts!
Nice course, bad greens
Well set out course with crisp tee boxes and soft and bouncy fairways. Friendly club house with ok breakfast and coffee. Bit of M25 road noise but still a mature decent track. Greens were awful. In need of at least a cut but need to be rollered really. As a 2 ball we had a bad roll on maybe 16 out of 18 holes. Game changer.
What a shame
Hard to know where to start.
My playing partner (single-figure handicap) knew the course from 12 years ago and when we saw the Tee Off Times special price of £17.00, we jumped at it.
Clearly a once decent course is in a poor state - the worst greens I've ever played on. Spongy at best, irregular, covered in pitch marks and worm casts. The fairways were boggy - I know it's March, but it hasn't been wet for weeks. No definition between fairway and rough. Bunkers had been raked, but were lacking in sand. Crucially, there was no sign of anybody working on the course - this place is unloved and that's a shame.
The hospitality was no better - we were greeted by one of the least welcoming and unhelpful people I've ever come across. The bar staff were more helpful although unsure as to whether there was a Spike Bar because they didn't know what one was! For information...there isn't one. We had to change before going back in to the clubhouse for a cup of tea...and I still can't quite believe this....we were offered a pot of tea which had been made "10 minutes ago, but they didn't want it". I doubt it was what we were looking for, so we left.
All in all, not worth the very low price of £17.00.

I've had the same experience with that kid in the pro shop. More than once. I'd personally sack him if he worked for me.
Now they have put a sign to say not to bring your clubs in, so maybe have figured it out or saw your comment.
I good course that got ruined by the M25 taken some of the course.
