Where do I start
I don’t write many reviews but felt this course needed one. Let’s start with the cost £52.50 was grossly overpriced. If it was £25 I would have taken it on the chin. If you’re a guest DO NOT play on a Saturday. I was booked in at 11am. Teed off 20 mins late. I also had to leave at 15.30 and thought 4 and a half hours would be sufficient for a short course. I managed 15 holes before having to leave. 4 hours 10 was a joke. Waited on every shot with often the group behind us also waiting on the tee as well. There aren’t any bunkers on the course apart from the 18th. It didn’t feel right. The greens were impossible, they were big but very undulating and a lot sloped front to back or heavily side to side, which made approach shots or stopping the ball on the green impossible. Lots of nothing holes 260 yard par 4’s too which made players waiting for greens to clear as if it’s a par 3! The course has a nightmare layout, a lot of holes crossed in dangerous places on numerous occasions. Then there was the main road which you have to cross 4 or 5 times on the round. Felt very exposed and not a golf course feel. It’s like they have tried to get 18 hole on a piece of land that would get 9 proper holes on. Wasn’t a good experience and would not return.
Tough greens
Nice course with a traditional vibe. More of a challenge than course rating and slope suggest. Have to cross busy roads a few times but wasn’t major issue. Greens very fast and was a good putting test.
Great condition
Course was in great condition unfortunately there was a lot of clueless Indian people walking on every single hole literally sitting in the middle of fairways, walking straight out in front of you while driving. This made the whole experience a nightmare to be honest,
Testing course
1st time I played this course , really impressed, some great holes , a lot of short holes but the greens make up for that . Very testing greens , but I did sink a 50ft for birdie on the 4th . Overall highly recommend, very reasonable price . Great course
Challenging greens and friendly staff.
Greens are always a test at Epsom and with course knowledge you can plot your way round fairly straight forward. Great views onto epsom downs and into the city. Staff amd members very friendly.
Epsom
Mats on all tee boxes. Bit muddy on.paths but overall course in pretty good nick considering the wet weather. Nice homely clubhouse.
Nice course
Course is short but a good challenge and very interesting greens
Pro shop is a joke…nothing much in it, booked electric trolley but not available as ‘we have one battery and it is flat’.
Nice enough but spoilt by the public
Start with the good, cheap and easy enough to get a tee time.
Decent layout, fairways in good nick and holes clearly defined by long rough,
Greens have good coverage and run fairly true, on the slightly slower side but very receptive.
The thing that annoyed me was not knowing on some holes where the next tee was, a couple times I went the wrong way leaving the green - simple fix with some sign posts?
The main issue I have with the course was the random people all over it, on the 5th I had to walk down the fairway and ask people to move so I could hit for the green, other holes had to wait for dog walkers and picnickers to move, one guy I could get the attention of I had to play over. Overall a nice course, the 17th & 18th tee was a bit weird but not too bad if you hit the 17th Green (As I was playing by myself I hit both tee shots and moved on)
Very average experience
Reasonable course with quite tight fairways lined with dense trees. But has a few drawbacks that make it pretty missile compared to other offerings locally for a similar price. Primarily from a safety perspective the signage is really lacking - there are several times that you can be hitting over another concealed hole without any warning; likewise there are times you need to walk across holes to reach your tee and there is no warning of direction from where a ball might come. Similarly the lack of signs doesn't help the fact that it's a bit of a maze to get around. Lastly, whilst the time of year is a bit wetter, it was disappointing to be teeing off nearly completely off of astro boxes. Finally at times the greens felt in fairly poor condition. Overall a course to probably give a miss unless you can get a cheap tee time and there's no other options for the time you want.
Poorly laid out golf course with a number of bad holes
Poor quality golf course. Very odd layout lacking any signage, yardage markers and proper tee boxes. Also, some of the holes themselves are very odd
Epsom
Great winter course as always dry even after heavy rain. Tricky greens are its main defence. Elevated location gives lovely views towards London. Overall very good.

Sorry to say best part was the views
I’m a 18-20 handicap, I therefore should not be able to drive through a green from Tee with a 5 wood on a flat par four. Crossed the road many times during the round?
Not sure how they can warrant £40 summer green fee on their website for visitors, even £28 on golf now was overpriced, fortunately we got it for less so no complaints on price we paid.
Tricky course…it was an experience glad I played at Epsom golf course ..would I go again probably not.
The sign posts around the course..well there isn’t any! You have to pretty much guess from hole to hole. Fairways were pretty poor standard ..tee boxes were good ..some of the greens were not bad some were poor..I’d give the course 6/10
Perfect golf
Compared with other courses Epsom is in very good condition after a wet winter. No mud good fairways and very good greens.. in the best condition I have seen and that includes a year as a member here,. Well done groundsmen
