The staff here are really friendly and helpful really good facilities and course was is great condition the other golfers were also very friendly definitely worth the money
Lovely course
Very friendly staff team. the course was very well maintained, despite the hot weather we are having. Some fantastic holes and lovey views. Not really many hills and the older members of our group managed to walk without any issues.
Lovely bar/restaurant with nice outdoor seating to great us at the end of our round. This course is a 1 hour journey for us but we all said it was worth it and would definitely be returning.
.what a gem.
Fantastic course, well maintained, extremely friendly staff, well stocked pro shop.Didnt eat here but great menu.
Great course
Great course in good condition and nicely landscaped. It’s a good challenge for all golfers. The shop, bar and facilities are also excellent. We got a great Friday afternoon deal on GolfNow.
Highly recommended
The course is great, the layout and condition were top notch.
Average course, lack of etiquette by members
Very slow play by members resulting in lots of waiting around. Better courses available nearby. Half way house never open. Overall cheap, and almost cheerful
Lovely course with some challenging holes
I have played here a few times and always look forward to it. A good mixture of long par 5’s, punchy par 3’s, water, sand and trees.
I play in a regular 3 ball and we all look forward to Wike Ridge.
The course was in fabulous condition and the fairways and greens were impeccable. My only gripe was the price. £50 each seems a steep jump for the summer but you get what you pay for.
Great course, helpful staff, amazing clubhouse, good half way house and of course loads of golf.
Poor course experience
Course well overrated poor conditions staff not aware of how to allocate tee times to avoid unnecessary waiting. No on course monitoring of slow play.
VERY AVERAGE
I have no problem being paired with another 2 ball. Its part of the terms you accept when using Golf Now but when you've booked a buggy and then get paired with a man & wife who've only played a couple of times in their lives it makes for a difficult and ultimately horrible round. Surely the club could ask some relevant questions before teeing off. We'd have been happy to go earlier or later with a couple of similar standard. at £35 its not exactly cheap. Greens were very poor, not sure if this is due to lack of rain but it wasn't worth £35. Shame as we like the course.
Leeds Golf Centre
As a former member of Leeds Golf Centre, I’ve always enjoyed playing on the course, which has been in good condition on many occasions. However, yesterday’s condition of the greens was particularly shocking.
All the greens were still badly affected by winter hollow tine holes that desperately needed top dressing. In comparison to other courses in the north Leeds area I’ve played at in the last two weeks, they were really poor and not enjoyable to play on.
The tee boxes on holes 3, 4, and 5 that appeared to have been recently re-turfed were in desperate need of watering and weren’t really ready to play on yet.
Very slow pace of play
The course is really good but we were a two ball behind what turned out to be a six ball three holes in front they left the after the ninth. The four ball two holes in front turned into a five as someone else joined. Four and a half hours for the round is a bit excessive the club needs to control who's out on the course better.
Disappointed
I have played at Wike fairly regularly for years. I have to say that this is the worst condition the greens have been in that I can remember. When I arrived the staff were there fairly usual level of uninterested and rude, but they failed to mention that the tee boxes throughout the entire course were closed. Off the winter mats in front of the ladies tees we go. The course was inlovely condition between the tees and greens, everything mown nicely (including the bizarrely closed tees). Unfortunately the greens were fairly shocking, with no real signs of ongoing maintenance work either. I don't mind a recently hollow-cored green, or a heavy dose of sand on top, but these were just lumps, bumpy and overall pretty miserable to putt on. For £18 at twilight I suppose you have to take what you get, but it's the most disappointed I've ever been with the course. Fingers crossed they can sort something out in the next month or so, the layout is still nice and it really should be a lovely round.
A great day to play golf I can’t say the same about the standard of my game
Great potenial
Lovely laid out course, on mats for tee boxes which were not told about, greens were ok for time of year.
Very busy, and members are quite rude to visitors.
Perhaps they should not allow visitors on if the membership is anti them.
