Fairways were good, a lot of rough has been cut down to speed up play I’d imagine BUT the greens are absolutely awful, slow and bobbly is an understatement, if they’ want more people to play here then spend a lot more time sorting out your greens, awful
Bubba
Nice layout, lots and lots of water so take a few extra balls, course was in good condition although 3/4 greens were a bit bumpy if I’m going to nit pick, loved the layout of the course with quite a few holes that made you think about things when tee-ing up, my three other playing partners had never played it before and were impressed so much so that we’ve booked up again for next Sunday.....,,
Nothing special.
First time playing this. 3 of the greens were bumpy and diseased. We had a group of 6 in front of us who did let us play through but why 6 of them? Saw numeous youths in hoodies playing.. bit rough.
Good day at the beach spoiled by a round of golf.
My initial review of this course mentioned the mammoth bunkers on some of the holes and today they were (in places) waterlogged, evidently down to the level of the water table rather than rain.
Great day out for golf, the course was busy yet kept to a steady pace and a round was just over 4 hours.
Greens were in great condition if somewhat slow. Fairways were good but I expect that to change quickly once they get abused and people don't replace divots. (or sort pitch marks out)
Can't comment on facilities due to being closed still.
Lydd golf
Played in January. Only playable course in the area given the rain we have had the course is in very good condition with only the bunkers watered logged. Greens also very good. Often windy next to the coast and today no exception. A lot of water hazards together with the wind mean you have to be quite accurate otherwise your have a bad day. Overall good challenging course that is playable all year in a very nice part of the country.
As good as its Neighbour's
Beautiful course in Kent I have played Prince's and lydd is just as good
If you are in Kent Make sure you play lydd
Nice clubhouse and friendly staff the Management let me stay in the car park in my motorhome.
Mr Coyne
Lovely course. Was delayed due to frost but the course was still in great condition considering the time of year :)
Lydd Links
Excellent course in very challenging conditions. Great covid management.
Pleasant and challenging course
Course was well laid out and had a good balance to it. Lots of water, mainly down the left hand side of holes made it challenging. Unfortunately the weather was pretty awful when we played (high winds and some heavy rain). Course greens and fairways were in good condition. Bunkers flooded and some parts of the rough saturated.
Would definitely return, and hopefully play in better weather!
A lovely marsh course
Despite the weather being unhelpful - very windy and a number of heavy down pours, I enjoyed the course. Low lying and flat with a number of water obstacles, the course is a good test of accuracy of shot and control. The greens were in excellent condition.
Will definitely play again.
Great Links
Really enjoy Lydd over playing a lot of local courses.
A real test with wind as well makes it more interesting and enjoyable.
Excellent value for money especially in such hard times financially for most.
If I had just one complaint it would be the greens and bunkers.
Greens are a bit bumpy and bunkers are poor In Terms of quality of sand.
Other than that I absolutely love this course and usually play well.
Still no birdies but I’ll keep trying.
On the plus side lots of pars but two double bogeys.
