Good fun
A good fun challenging course. Kept well. Driving range and a short game practise area I wish I visited! Small pro shop and friendly staff.
Malton Golf Club
Lovely Golf course and friendly staff, made us feel very welcome.
Condition of greens
Disappointed with condition of the greens , there was more sand than grass on some.
Also fairways weren't as good as last time I played here.
A must
Never played this course before but wanted to play before returning to Leeds. Well kept course with a little for all levels of ability.
Clear lay out and will certainly return.
Incredible greens
Turned up early for an 11.40 tee off,had a lovely cooked breakfast, then were told by the pro we could go off early as they had a quiet spot, which was great for us,course was immaculately manicured and in very good condition,,greens rolled true, not one bobble, pro and staff very friendly would recommend you come and play this course, excellent value
27 holes - best course in North Yorkshire
You can choose your course from 3 loops of 9 holes. Best to play 9 or 18 in the morning, have a lovely lunch in the clubhouse which overlooks the 1st/9th/10th/18th greens and then play another 9/18 in the afternoon.
The Welham has some uphill walking, the Park - 10 - 18 is fairly flat and the Derwent takes you alongside the railway line and has some great holes.
Malton is also the food capital of North Yorkshire so you can easily spend a great two days there with an overnight stay and even more golf!
Good test
Arrived at the course, very well kept, tidy attractive .
A good test of golf, played the Welham course there are another 9 holes to play if you are there for the day..
We will be back
A course of 2 halves.
On entering the pro shop the staff were really friendly and knowledgeable. The clubhouse was very nice and the staff quite chatty and the bacon buttie was very nice.
Now the course, the front 9 was hilly and the fairways spot on and the greens were fast but true(but you have to hit it in the right places as a three put is on the cards)it was more links golf than inland!
The second 9 (park) was just as described a parkland quite flat but well thought out and hitting the right spots is a must. The greens were not as undulating as the front 9 but still very testing and true.
Overall a great experience and I would travel again to play it.
Tony.
A Great course to play
Course was in very good condition considering the weather conditions. Thourouly enjoyed playing it and will certainly play it again.
All the staff were very helpful and friendly, and welcoming and even club members were very friendly towards us and made us feel at home.
Overall a very good expierience.
Worth it
A must if you are in the region...great course, and the surrounding area has much to offer
would recomend
first time to this course and it will not be the last time .This is a course for all standards ,lovely tree lined fairways ,and the greens were something else.Staff very helpful .Only bad thing i could say about the golf course is that it needs better signage at the entrance to the course.
A challenging course for high handicapers
The course layout is mixture of slopes on the first nine,
the second nine is flat but with some interesting bunkers.
The setting is delightfully treed and the views over the countryside are second to none.
Well worth a visit.
Our favourite course in the York area.
Beautifully manicured golf course. A joy to play. Cant wait to return
Malton in the sun
I would love to come back and play here again. Although a little slow the greens were in great condition and running very true. The fairways were a delight to play on and all the staff were extremely friendly. Looking forward to coming back.
Gem of a course for the money.
Have played Malton several times and am always impressed with the quality of the course and superb greens. One of my favourite courses in North Yorkshire and great value for money.
Tranquility play
Very relaxed and leisurely play around this well kept course. I made two birdies and 6 pars but then again I'm only a 28 handicap. I would definitely play another round.
Lively course
Course in excellent condition. The greens although challenging were a delight to put on. The pro shop staff were welcoming so too were the bar staff afterwards.
Will certainly play again
