Interesting course
Wanted to play the course for the first time as playing with a society soon .Conditions were very muddy but to be expected this time of year, Greens we’re good and would like to play in the summer.
Should not have allowed trolleys on the course as it was too muddy and progress was hampered by having to clean the wheels after every other hole. Should have been advised of this beforehand so golfers could bring stand bags in wet months in the winter.
Muddy Course
Very warm welcome in pro shop and Clubhouse , no cooked breakfast available , only sausage or bacon rolls , as we went round the mud built up on my trolley and my shoes making it increasingly more difficult to get round , the fairways are like semi rough , temporary tees and Greens , all in all not a course I will come back to
Poor condition
Course was not fully open and only 9 holes were playable and the conditions were pretty bad with mud everywhere. Probably not worth playing in these conditions.
Winter woes
Unfortunately not a good course to play in the winter.
Have played the course before about 5 years ago but it was earlier in the year.
Every hole was off a temporary tee and there were too many temporary greens, and the course was very wet and slippery in places.
Some of the direction signage needs to be improved between holes.
We are due to play this course next summer with our golf society so I hope we will see an improvement then.
The course was very quiet on the day we played, and we had one other player behind us who finished as we were air hosing our trolleys down.
He thought the course was unplayable in certain areas.
I love this course
It was very busy, so the pace of play was a little slow at times, the course was in great condition but the greens had been treated so we’re a little slow.
I shot my best score ever so I’m happy
Golf with my son on Sunday
The course is in great shape and has challenging holes that warrant me replacement some lost balls.
We enjoyed the day having travelled and will again travel to try other courses with challenges.
STFC at Cambridge
We chose the course as a stop off from Swindon to Cambridge as STFC away there that evening.
The fairways hadn’t been cut !!!!
This meant every approach was from the first-cut tough. Not the best because of this.
Staff all friendly; no food after golf (6pm) in golf clubhouse to had to move to a pub or eat in hotel - chose a pub near Cambridge.
Lovely setting
Good course, nice parkland setting and some monster par 5 holes. Quick greens but some of the tee boxes being refurbished and not in great shape.
Great course
Love this track, superb condition, very playable and we just had a magic afternoon
Great course & great value for the money.
Nice course & great value for the money, spoilt a bit has we had a 2 ball appear from no where, who just shot past us while we were finishing on the green ! That was followed by a 1 ball not sure what was going on ! Course was in great condition, only gripe was 2 teeboxes were astroturf& a few were very un even - shame as I would have give it 4 stars, as it only cost us £20 each, great value.
A round in the sunshine!
Previously played this course last year in very wet conditions. So much better this time, although the scores didn’t quite reflect it.
A great testing course with some tricky par 3s and 4s and very long par 5s.
Pace of play was good for us, although behind us (thankfully) was a 4/5 ball on a day out.
Only gripe was that the first cut off the fairway was quite long and was quite difficult searching for balls.
All in all a good experience.
