Canons Brook Golf Club

Nice course layout with some challenging tight holes but course condition was disappointing with tees over used and uneven and fairways seemingly not cut for days. Some of the greens were in less than impressive condition too. Could be a gem but needs a lot of work.

Fantastic course and club. Good value generally however due to weather Conditions as restricted to 15 holes which we weren’t informed of when booking. The club reached out via text to mention it was carry only which fair enough is good communication but didn’t advise at that time it would just be 15 holes which we didn’t know until we checked in just before our round.

Course is well looked after and a great layout, good greens and held up well even in the wet.

GolfNow - Please UPDATE REVIEWS! Surely someone has reviewed this course in the last 5 months?? Personally, always happy to leave an honest (‘current’) appraisal of a course for others to find useful. If these reviews are not ‘posted’, what’s the point??

Very annoyed that neither the course or GOlf Now informed me that the greens had just been under maintenance that day! Every single green had been hollow tined!! Whilst understanding this is essential work that must be carried out during this time of the year at least a notification to alert me to this work before I had booked, paid and travelled the 40 minute drive to the course wouldn’t have been too much to ask . I wouldn’t have paid for this had I known as I hate putting on bumpy irregular surfaced greens so this basically ruined my whole experience at canons brook. If it hadn’t been for this I would have scored the course highly as it is a little gem really otherwise. Doubt I will get any money back or a voucher off from the course or golf now for my next round, so won’t be holding my breath. Thanks for a bit of a ruined experience on my day off when I should have been really soaking up the glorious sunshine on a course that I could actually enjoy playing on.

Course in fantastic condition. Greens and tee boxes immaculate. A good but fair test of skills. Will definitely return.

Played 28/7/23 course, fairways and greens in good condition. Greens were a tad slow(or maybe my putts were lagged up lol) had 4 putts stop cm short. Tee boxes on around 5/6 holes need improving and leveling out. Greens were as I said were in very good condition. Our society already booked again for next year. Price was good for 1 round including breakfast at £45 came in with 32 pts and would have won if the 3 putts for Par had gone in. Staff really friendly.

Excellent al round course, some fantastic holes and long par 5’s …in excellent condition will be returning soon

Usually a great course but this is the first time I've played it at this time of year. It was very boggy & muddy in places & the greens were covered in sand which was near impossible to putt on. Shall leave it till the weather improves before playing again.
