Good Challenging Course
Tough course for high handicappers but worth playing. Fairways and greens kept well but bunkers could be improved. A little disappointing that the price shown on the Golf Now website is not necessarily what you end up paying as they charge more if only 2 players compared to 4 players. Other course charge the same per player. Never the less worth playing
Groves
What a lovely course ,read some reviews before I went ,don’t know where they’d been playing, nicely kept and the greens were nice ,will play there again ,even though I played pants
Slowest round in world.
Over booked, 12 minute wait at every tee. Took 2.5 hours to play 7 holes and gave up. Never seen so many people calling it a day between the 7th and 10th tees
In fact it was dangerous as there were so many people queuing for next tee people behind were landing balls close
Never again
Lovely course
The first time having played this course saw all our group really enjoying the fantastic lay out of the course, really interesting and good challenge.
Some of the tee boxes and bunkers needed some upkeep but overall really great value course.
Interesting Golf Course
I read a review on here before i played, and that review was NOT GOOD however i played today and it was clear that the previous poor review had no idea what they were on about. The course in general is good the greens are good the tee beds generally are good and certain tees (about 3) were temporary. Whilst new tees were growing. The greens had been some gurs around them but were covered with grass seed as were some areas on the tee. People must realise that maintainance of a golf course is on going and changes with the weather.
I enjoyed the course and would play again value at £22.50 a round
Greens and tee boxes...omg
The staff that book ended the visit were great, early off and friendly with my coffee.......but
What the he'll us going on with the greens and tea boxes
Astro turf feel and not very good at that
For the money the greens should roll at at least 9
Really poor
Spend my money elsewhere next time
Slow play
We only completed 16 holes due to show play
Something needs to be done about it as this is not the first time
Better off closing the course to recover...
Obviously with a global pandemic I appreciate the efforts to play golf but this course is unplayable at the moment and is in a very poor state. We booked a four ball but couldn’t do it because of the Tier 4 restrictions. No way of getting a refund.
2 of us decided to play but at least 5 holes are out of action with no communication on this- so gave up after attempting to play.
Used to play Manor of Groves a lot a couple of years ago but it has gone really downhill this year. Can’t believe how bad the fairways are- look like they haven’t been maintained at all.
Challenging
Course was only open on 12 holes due to weather but the holes open were in good condition considering the recent weather.
Really good greens
Last round before lockdown and was really glad I went. The course was busy so it took 4.5hrs (which is too long) but considering all the wet weather we've had the course was playing really well.
The greens were a highlight, they were running really true and smooth for the time of year - Well Done.
Scored +6, 77
Very wet under foot
I have played this course in the summer and it was in good condition so booked again. During the second visit, greens were in good condition however the fairways and rough were heavily water logged in places, barely playable. No winter tees as well, all off mats. From looking at the tees, they could do with some improvement with levelling them out as they are quite bobbly. Overall I would play the course again in the spring or summer.
Nice afternoon out
Great conditions and good value. Given the recent heavy rain it's no surprise the course was playing very soft - the fairways had little or no run and any ball coming in from height plugged.
Dissapointed
Played a society day at manor of groves the course was fine but the meal after was the worst meal I’ve had at a society day and I’ve been to quite a few we were given ham egg and chips there was about ten skinny chips two cold fried eggs and two slices off han that you could see through
