Cut the grass!!
Played today for the first time here and was really disappointed of how long the grass is on virtually all the fairways... For a course that is so expensive it was in far worse condition than alot of other local cheaper courses....
Also.... Stones in the bunkers is really not on... Nice scrape on my sand wedge...
Potentially a lovely course if it was looked after
Won't be in a hurry to play here again.
Needs work
Course is not in bad nick need to cut fairways, greens in poor condition and very hard bunkers full of stones, parts of course very boggy even though top part very dry ??? Definitely gone down hill from previous visits
Ok course
green had a disease and fairways a little long in place due to course being wet still in areas even though we havent had rain for weeks. Staff/ pro very good and range looks nice but balls very old and need replacing, its letting this area down badly.
Great course and throughly enjoyable and friendly club, a little wet in places but still very playable and in comparison other course in the region are closed due to being waterlogged. Cant wait to play it in spring/summer.
Lovely course
Just needs better signage from green to next tee
First round and hopefully not the last!
Played at Middleton yesterday for the first time with my Dad. Booking was very easy and they were very helpful in re-scheduling due to me booking during a tournament day. Facilities are fantastic as is the overall feel of the place and the people we have met so far, me and my Dad are not great or regular golfers but weren't made to feel out of place and actually felt very welcomed by those we met. Someone even picked up a club I'd left behind around 6 holes earlier and gave it to us. A wonderful place and wonderful day of golf, thank you!
Nice course
Nice course to play some challenging holes. Friendly staff, good facilities
Had a great day the ease and friendly welcome
First class
Course took us by surprise short but very challenging
Enjoyable course
Greatly enjoyed playing heee, had a good round. Course layout challenging but accessible. Helpful pro shop, good range.
Great
Course in good condition, pretty challenging for average club golfer
Late round
Course was in lovely condition. Greens were a tad slow but that was down to re seeding
Desperately needs a marshall!
Have played this course on three seperate occasions, every single time I have had an issue with slow play.
In my opinion if the club gets lots of bookings for 3/4 balls of elderly players then maybe it would be best to have a course marshall and remind the members that slow play is not acceptable, and to be more aware about letting a person playing on their own to play through.
Every time I have played here I have been caught up behind group after group of slow playing 4 balls that refuse to let me play through and can not deny they knew of my presence. On this visit i was became very annoyed by the eighth hole, I was on the green of the 7th (15 yards from the tee of the 8th hole) when the 4 ball of ladies infront of me decided not to wait for me to finish up and play through but to tee off instead. So after waiting a very long time for them to get out of reach I play on, there I am waiting 195 yards from the green when they finally finish the hole, i had enough time to finish the hole (195 yards to go) and then play the 18th instead of the 9th before the 4ball of ladies had reached their tee shots. I cant help but feel the club doesnt do enough to speed up play/ remind members to let younger faster smaller groups play through.
If the club had a marshall this would probably be avoided, or even if they told me to tee off from the 10th as there seamed to be no-one on the back 9 at the time.
Another problem with the course is the layout, with lots of dog legs on the course and the tee to the next hole always being in line with your shot youre always waiting to take your shot as there are people in the way, also on more than one occasion you end up playing accross another hole so there are many factors that slow down play.
Course was in genral good nick, has some nice holes and views which is a shame because speed of play is letting this club down big time. Payed £21 so price for the condition of the course is good value. But having had the same problem the three times i have played here and nothing has been done about it i wouldnt reccomend this course and i wont be returning.
