Avoid this course

First time playing here, course is poorly maintained, poorly designed and signage is poor. I tried to get in to the reception when I got here but that was closed, I found the people unfriendly and the staff non existent. All in all a dreadful experience I will certainly not be back, there are plenty of courses round Norfolk and Lincolnshire I’d pick somewhere else.

Good little course

A very good course offering a good level of challenges with it's fluctuations in height. Would benefit from some marker posts on a hole such as the 3rd to have an aim point but apart from that course was clean, tidy and in good condition. Staff very friendly as were the patrons.

Enjoyable 18 holes with my brother

Well worth an afternoon of any golfers time, but definitely play 18 just so you can appreciate the quirkiness of it and to make sure you hit the right shot on the second time around! We really enjoyed playing it, but it is very tight on space so be patient and aware of the other golfers teeing off. The other players and staff were very nice and accommodating to us as well. We'll be back when visiting our mum again in the future.

Quick round while in the area

After finding out I had a few days work in Spalding I decided to pack the golf clubs. I knew about Sutton Bridge golf club so decided to search for it.

Seemed a bargain at £15 for 18 holes, so book it I did!

On arrival I was informed it was a 9 hole course which I could have checked before- but didn't!

The staff actually came out to point out the layout which i found to be great! There's no doubt it's a quirky course - BUT I LOVED IT!

Some of the holes have amazing features, there are little issues like not emough sand in the bunkers... but stay out of them!

After the first 9 I had a Guiness which was out of a can - but reasonably priced!

The second 9 holes were a little slower as I caught up a 4 ball, but I still loved it!

My opinion is - a great little course, different to most, with great staff and at a great price! Will definitely play again!

An absolute hidden gem

Truly not a bad word to be said.

Despite this being 9 holes, going around twice was not at all monotonous and provided an excellent challenge.

Quirky doesn’t cover this course, it’s built in an old dock and features that heavily! Playing up dock walls on a few of the holes and down it on one particular par 3, was an absolute joy (wish I could say the same for my playing partner 😂).

Greens were excellent, we were in the midst of a particularly dry spell when I played and that was not reflected by the greens at all.

Only downside - no pro shop.

Had an absolutely cracking and very fairly priced Bacon and Sausage sandwich at the turn too!

All in all, a fantastic experience, would recommend to anybody!

What a gem!

I have nothing but good things to say about this course!

Quirky, challenging, well kept and a lot of fun.

Everyone was friendly and helpful in the clubhouse and served us an excellent bacon and sausage sandwich at the turn.

Only downside is little to no club shop, which wouldn’t have been a problem if I’d’ve remembered to buy some balls before I went 🤦🏻‍♂️.

Can’t fault the greens either, really well manicured and challenging.

All in all, at £25 for 18 holes, it’s an absolute hidden gem and one I cannot wait to play again.

Thank you Sutton Bridge GC!

Winter Golf

Given the current weather conditions the country is being hampered by, finding a course to play on as our home club was closed was not easy.

Sutton Bridge was local and although 3 of the 9 holes were closed due to weather, we managed to play 3 loops of 6 on the higher part of the course, these holes were in great condition with quick greens!!!

The 2 month all in winter deal at £46 is worth a look! Plus members guests play for £10 regardless if all holes are open or not!

Excellent experience

Having not played this course for over 20 years, it was a pleasure to return with an old friend who had not played the course before.

We both enjoyed the golfing experience and welcome from George who appears to do everything at the club.

After playing 9 holes we had a splendid lunch with a good choice of liquid refreshments before venturing out again. Thankyou Sutton Bridge GC for a brilliant 9 hole golfing experience. Will return but will not leave it 20 years as I'll be 93 by then!!!!. Thanks to George.

A course with a local history

Always pleasant and clearly the new staff have worked hard to get it back to its best!

All the facilities were open and in good order, with the greens being as good if not better than anywhere in the area.
