Poor value for money
Poor greens and especially poor fairways, really slow play.
Not as good as I was expecting
Heard good things about the course but greens were shabby, pitch marks all over the place, fairways needed trimming as grass far too long. Play was ridiculously slow and not a four ball in sight so was surprised. Didn't use additional facilities so can't comment on them. Overall would probably not play again as plenty of far better courses within 20minutes drive.
the heron
great course and the weather good. would definitely recommend it. hsd to change location to mossack so most impressed how i was able to play mossack
A hidden gem
A cracking course which was in great condition and requires you to think carefully about pretty much every shot. Some very clever dogleg par 4's and some testing par 5's too. Mix of short and longer par 3's work well. Was scoring well until a card wrecker 8 on the long par 4 13th! Finished with 39 stableford points and a gross score of 79 playing off 10. Will definitely be back.
Good variety of holes
The course was in good condition.
It absolutely chucked it down during the round and I was soaked by the end but I continued. I think this shows there was enough to keep me going.
There is a good variety of holes.
The 18th is good with a stream running in front of the green.
The greens could of been better. A couple of putts veered off as they were on there way in.
I'll be back in summer to see if they are better.
I'm thinking of bringing my society as it has enough for all level of golfers.
Bad weather didn't stop play
At first we thought it should have been closed, the practice putting area was almost a pond. However despite the days of torrential rain and still raining when we started it was a good day. Yes it was bogged in places and flooded here and there but the greens were fine and most of the fairways. The rain went off and we had a great round which was a surprise given the poor weather.
Great food from a very friendly barmaid in a pleasant bar. Glad we persevered and didn't let the weather put us off
