Decent course
I’ve been playing here since Feb 25 and the course is always in good condition no matter the weather.
Slightly awkward having to play the first 5 holes again to complete.m a full round..
Annoyed again.
Once again we booked a 4 ball for a Sunday lunch time and once again we turned up and ‘no buggy’s available’. I called up last Thursday to double double make sure we would have buggy’s as the last 2 times I’ve turned up after booking buggy’s they have said they are all gone. Considering this week was also 28 degrees we had all turned up with no trolleys because I’d 100% made sure we would have buggy’s. I was told on arrival that they ‘weren’t in the system’ and I was told they were all gone. Even though there was 4 buggy’s around the back sat doing nothing and we later saw a 4 ball with buggy’s. There was also a 6 ball out on the course with 3 buggy’s between them. We weren’t even offered a cheap push trolley in place of the buggy either. Very disappointing as it’s a good value for money course but this is the 3rd time we have been let down now and last time I was with someone who could barely even walk. Much better policy needs to be in place to avoid disappointment for people who may have travelled far who are hard of walking.
Great 13 Holes
I am a big fan of this club, the course is great. Interesting holes a good mix of par 3s, 4s and 5s. The greens are in good locations, the tee boxes are good and the countryside is stunning. The pro shop is small and limited but very friendly. The bar is absolutely great, brilliant outside space and really good beer on draft. The only down side to the club is the fact that to play 18 holes you have to play 13 holes and then the front 5 again. This does not bother me, in fact I quite like it but the problem is waiting to get back on the "14th" as you come back round to the first hole. On Sunday I arrived at the 1st/14th and there were 4 groups in front of me, one tee'ing off and 3 waiting. I waited 10mins and there was two groups still in front of me so I had called it a day early. If they can sort that this club is a real gem but that is a real problem. Perhaps limited tee times would resolve the issue but appreciate the club would unlikely be happy with reducing their offerings. Hopefully one day it will be back to a full 18 as I am a massive fan of the club
Lovely course.
Haven't played here for a few years and thoroughly enjoyed it after the change in the layout. Was always well kept and greens and tee boxes excellent. Fairways dry and barren like everywhere I have played recently. Value for money was exceptional and £25 for a buggy very fair. Would highly recommend.
Girls day out
Great day out, course very dry, as expected. Challenging and need good course management. Ball running very well. Millionaires golf!!
Will play again.
Not quite 18 holes
Haven’t played here before this weekend but was referred to by a friend.
Course was well kept with the fairways and tee boxes in good condition, greens were superb and really well maintained.
A couple of practice area which were well kept and good to warm up.
My biggest disappointment is the Course only a 13 hole and you replay 1-5 making it 18. Really disappointing not to have 18 holes.
Nice course
Great course.. but... Only 13 holes. Little annoying to discover when you book 18 holes via golf now. Not the courses issue.
13 Holes and it went down hill
The course is in good condition, the fairways were very very dry but this period of very dry hot weather you would expect these conditions, so good and bad shots you pretty much run off every fairway. The bunkers were in great condition and the green fantastic. Great testament to the Green Keepers. The course layout and design for the first 13 holes was really good, THEN it all goes DOWN Hill. If you want to play 18 holes you have to replay the first 5 holes. This is a little annoying, looks like they have sold off the land to make ends meet. I guess that’s so much the issue, but when you get players coming to the end of hole 13 and players starting their round, you get a bottleneck and the round grinds to a halt. Which is such a shame. They need a system to aid this transition. It’s such a shame as this would have been a cracking course back when it was 18 holes. Anyway after the pace of play dropped considerably, I thought I’d get a refreshing pint, it was 6.20pm and the club hut and bar were closed. I guess that added to the overall disappointment
Nice little surprise!
If I’m honest, the greens were some of the best greens I’ve played this year!
It was ridiculously hot so fairways were very solid which is to be expected this time of year, it was my first time playing this course and the signage was very limited between holes.
All of the par 3’s are very individual and a great challenge.
No driving range but practice nets and practice putting green with the bunker to accompany everything you need to knock the rust off before you begin in your round!
I believe the land is owned by a professional horse trainer and the only downfall was that I did not actually see any race horses!
All in all an enjoyable afternoon I think £3 for Lucozade is a little bit steep though!
Only 13 holes
I booked and thought I would be playing 18 holes. This is no longer an 18 hole couse as recent changes removed 5 holes (14 to 18) when they were developed into gallops for nearby racing stables. To play 18 holes you have to repeat holes 1 to 5. A big disappointment! The fact that this is a 13 hole course is not made clear on the Nauntion website.
Super course with a quirky layout
Lovely course perched on the hill , bargain price on a Monday in hot deals. Course has been changed to work around the horse gallops , only 13 holes ( play first 5 twice for 18).
Good challenge for average golfer , wide fairways but some long par 5s, 2 tough par 3 over valleys , and lots of bunkers protecting greens. Greens in excellent condition
Thoroughly enjoyable challenge for the price
Excellent course, shame you have to play the first 5 holes twice. Dont know if the other holes are under repair or not, but still a good course to play and for £18, i can't complain.
Nice place, very good greens
Thought we’d try somewhere different. Not disappointed, nice course, more up and down hilly than we’d thought, greens were excellent. Recommended .
Clubhouse looked good, staff friendly.
Only downside was the attitude of some members. Appalling and rude. No etiquette just because they’re members.
2 older ladies who should know better , particularly poor. We were 15 / 20 mins early and the pro told us to go straight out if we were ready and wanted to… we got to the first tee… gloves on,, and two older women march up to us, “what time are you due off?” … not for 10 mins, but the pro told us to crack on and go, with a friendly smile and air… “oh no, not in front of us you aren’t !” Then barge past and proceed to hold everyone up with ultra slow place, driving 100 yds off tees at best and refusing to let anyone through. Their excuse…. “It’s Saturday morning dear” 🤦♂️
Pleasant course
Really enjoyed this course. Strange set up as only 13 holes, with first 5 holes repeated to make 18. Lots of quirky holes. Sneaky tough with testing pin positions. Really lovely club house. Felt for £18 it was incredible value for money.
Great value for money
Beautiful course with some amazing par threes. Bit of a climb on occasions due to the location. Course was in great condition for April and the clubhouse is superb.
The only reason for four stars not five is that the layout is only thirteen holes at present. You can play the first five holes again though to make eighteen.
