Enjoyable course
This was my second time playing this course and I will be definitely playing there more often. It’s situated in a very nice location and the course itself was in very good condition. I think the signage could be improved slightly to make it clearer where the next tee location is etc.
One big bonus is the 400 year old pub next door, which is one of my favourites, serving good food and beer.
All in all an enjoyable afternoon.
Excellent
Excellent course condition paved the way for a really enjoyable day
No Tee Times at this club
Please note that if you book a Tee Time via GolfNow this is not necessarily the time you will Tee off as Penn GC now do not allocate Tee Off times. We had four 4 Balls in front of us at our allocated time !
(played the back 9 first)
Decent course good value for a £20 round
I’ve played here a few times now and the setting of the course is beautiful.
Pro shop staff are really friendly and accommodating to visitors.
Pace of play is an issue. I have found on all my rounds at the course that older members are very reluctant to allow quicker players through even single players when they are clearly playing slowly.
Apart from that. I really enjoy the course and will continue to pay and play as a visitor.
Good course but a problem with tee times
Penn is a good course and well worth playing but there is a massive problem when booking tee times through Golfnow.. Even if you have booked a tee time, members are allowed to just randomly turn up and they are given preference over you, irrespective of how many turn up you will always be at the back of the queue until all members have teed off. My view is that they should not be advertising and taking money online for tee times that they can not guarantee. After all once you pay your green fees then you are a member for that period of time and no one else should be given preference over you..
Although Penn is a great course they should not be allowed to advertise online tee times that they can not guarantee

GoodCourse
Great greens, fairways a bit wet in places due to heavy rain the night before.
Boggy
Unfortunately it was very boggy . It would probably be very nice course in the summer
Penn golf course set in beautiful countryside
I am looking for a course to join the year so have been trying the local courses to me. Although this was wet underfoot, I was really taken by the layout, surroundings and course planning. So much so that I am genuinely considering joining.
James in the pro shop was really friendly and gave an honest opinion which I valued.
I will be returning in the next few weeks when we’ve had some dryer days and I am sure that I’ll love it even more.
Pace of play was rapid and I pretty much had the back 9 all to myself as this is where I started due to an earlier comp going off the front 9.
All in all, lovely course and I will be playing there again very soon.
Wet day
Played in between Xmas and new year. Course was soaked and some temp greens but no problem. Everyone very welcoming will be back . Be careful generally this time of year Golf Now taking bookings the previous two days to when we played and course was shut . When we arrived the guy said when did you book cuz we have only just decided it’s ok to open .
Closed
Closed, no one told us…no one cared and said to call Golf Now. No one answers the phone at golf now.

Closed the course, no one told us and no one cared….
Penn Golf Club
Great course.
They don’t use Tee Times tho so you can get off whenever you’re ready.
When we finished there was 20 players waiting to play
