The mount
We played the mountain on 28th November and teed off early 8.52 to miss the rain. When we arrived we were disappointed to find all greens were temps, however we have to admit that their condition was nearly as good as the proper greens so overall an enjoyable game of golf
Improvements needed
I’ve played this course many times over the years. It’s never been in amazing condition, but this was always reflected in the price. £33 today felt expensive. The tees have not been mowed and were a mess. No effort to blow away leaves anywhere on the course resulted in my playing partner and I losing at least 5 perfectly good tee shots between us. Also quite a few temps that we were not told about in the club house at the start. And finally a lack of players shouting fore. Positives were the nice clubhouse, good food (curries) and friendly staff.
Well maintained course.
Haven't played here for a while I must say the course was in fantastic condition. Couldn't fault anything at all, course was quiet so pace of play was good. Lots of work on the clubhouse and looks great and welcoming.
Friendly staff
Very friendly staff the course was very good considering all of the rain we have had. Greens are in excellent condition.
Brilliant for beginners
Lovely course
Perfect for all levels
Will go back!
Great course
Lovely course, even after a week of heavy rain. The greens had been hollow tined recently, but that was the only negative. The off course facilities are improving all the time too. Decent shop and a lovely bar and outdoor seating area.
Good layout
The greens were good and the fairways were not too bad given the dry weather.
Drought golf
First I’ll preface this review. No water makes for tough course conditions. ***That said, they did water the greens and they played very well!!! It was the fairways where at times it was as hard as concrete. Courses are going to have to charge more to membership and visitors to get more water on the course or they will be unplayable. The fairways were not good for the most part.
Superb greens
Excellent course in very good nick considering how dry it’s been lately. Greens are among the best I’ve played in years.
Decent course
Course wasn’t bad but a lot of the holes are just straight up and par 4’s and 5’s
A lot of work being done to the buildings
Hopefully the course will be improved as well
very nice.
Very nice course, everything was good. Very windy day, pace of was excellent. Enjoyed my round. Good facilities at this course.
Could be better!
Very slow play & the course is not in great condition! The cups for the temporary greens are still in place for instance! All paths are poor.... If they had invested the money spent on the dinosaur inspired crazy golf area on the actual course, it wouldn't be a bad track! For £37.00 it was a bit disappointing 😞
Well Presented Parkland
Friendly welcome, easy to find and course looked great. They have a driving range, chipping green with astroturf and putting green for warm up. The course is standard Parkland with many 400 yard par 4 interspersed with some 5s and 3s not much in the way of elevation change so an easy 6 mile walk according to my GPS.
After the round we went to the bar and had food, which I have to say was excellent.
The Mount
Over all good value for money course was in good condition for winter golf.
The green were great the ones in play on our day 4 temps again good for winter golf.
The only issue was the winter greens ranged from 30 yards short too 130 yards short not an issue if you are a member as you would know where they are BUT as a visitor I feel they should let you know the temp greens and how short they are from the main green
Do not play
Do not play this course. Currently on 18 temp greens as they say the preparing the greens for winter.
Course is very wet balls plugging and getting lost just off the fairway and leaves just not getting moved.
Full price paid and no discount
Dont play it.
