The Mount Golf & Country Club

Course was in good condition but wasn’t informed that all holes were on temp greens until we arrived

Good course for early season golf, handful of temp greens were surprisingly good, fairly flat course with mature trees and decent layout. Well kept fairways and rough with most leaves confined to wooded areas, bar available along with usual facilities.

The course was operating on temporary greens which happens but it would have been good to know when booking and to have distances from centres of greens to temps available to make it easier to deduct from gps distances to gauge shots in, and for club selection on par 3s.

The clubhouse facilities are very good, but when there are no staff to serve food or drinks at 0.900 am it’s poor service.

Tee boxes are really uneven. It’s not much to expect a quality course to get them flat!

The staff were great course layout was good disappointed with playing on temporary greens as checked the Web page no mention of it, still had too pay full price disappointed

We played the mountain on 28th November and teed off early 8.52 to miss the rain. When we arrived we were disappointed to find all greens were temps, however we have to admit that their condition was nearly as good as the proper greens so overall an enjoyable game of golf

I’ve played this course many times over the years. It’s never been in amazing condition, but this was always reflected in the price. £33 today felt expensive. The tees have not been mowed and were a mess. No effort to blow away leaves anywhere on the course resulted in my playing partner and I losing at least 5 perfectly good tee shots between us. Also quite a few temps that we were not told about in the club house at the start. And finally a lack of players shouting fore. Positives were the nice clubhouse, good food (curries) and friendly staff.

Haven't played here for a while I must say the course was in fantastic condition. Couldn't fault anything at all, course was quiet so pace of play was good. Lots of work on the clubhouse and looks great and welcoming.

Very friendly staff the course was very good considering all of the rain we have had. Greens are in excellent condition.

Lovely course, even after a week of heavy rain. The greens had been hollow tined recently, but that was the only negative. The off course facilities are improving all the time too. Decent shop and a lovely bar and outdoor seating area.

The greens were good and the fairways were not too bad given the dry weather.

First I’ll preface this review. No water makes for tough course conditions. ***That said, they did water the greens and they played very well!!! It was the fairways where at times it was as hard as concrete. Courses are going to have to charge more to membership and visitors to get more water on the course or they will be unplayable. The fairways were not good for the most part.

Excellent course in very good nick considering how dry it’s been lately. Greens are among the best I’ve played in years.
