Well presented course
Played Pype Hayes today fairways really good greens getting there quite nice bunkers not so good all in all well worth a visit
I can tell some work has been put into this course recently which has made me start enjoying this course again but a few things like tee boxes need to be in better condition and a few green needs a little bit of work but apart from that it’s a great course for the price if ur playing off peak
Don’t play not worth the money
Tee boxes are a joke not flat muddy and bare
Greens a patchy very very slow don’t run true
Won’t come here again
No Rush
With few players on the course their was no rush to get to the next tee, but give a couple of months and I'm sure this will all charge, decent course
Pace of play is a problem
I have played this course many times, it has a problem with pace of play. Multiple times I have encountered 5 balls. On this occasion it was a two ball who couldn’t keep up with a four ball in front of them and refused to let me through. There is 0 etiquette with people that play this course.
I went into the club house to inform them of this two ball and also that ahead of the the 4 ball in front of them there was a 5 ball and they didn’t care. I asked to play the front 9 again otherwise I was on for a 5.5 hour round when realistically even a slow 4 ball should be no more than 3.45hrs.
The course is exactly what you pay for, it’s ok but priced accordingly. This used to be a lot better course and has dropped off drastically after the Covid closure. Big shame.
Sad to see its demise
I have played this course on and off for over 3 years. Year on year the quality of the course has deteriorated. Greens are slow and patchy and fairways were covered in grass cuttings. Bunkers are also in poor condition. It is such a shame as when I first played here the course was well kept throughout. On golf now prices are similar to Forest of Arden’s Aylseford course. Yet that course is always well kept.Just hoping there is a reassessment of how the course should be looked after as it can be a very nice course.
Risk for no reward
Took a chance on this, was disappointed overall but the clubhouse and half way house services were good.
Course was wet which I assume stopped mosey mowing of fairways and the greens were bald in places and didn’t run true.
Good course for beginners
Good course, greens a little rough but in all fairness it’s winter, so expected to a degree.
Shame about the 5 ball playing in front of use, slowed us and a group behind us. The most frustrating thing was the guys behind were members and said they do it regularly.
Other than that, nice course, wide fairways, would recommend.
Steady eddy
Steady course, perfect for getting your swing in and a bit of practice.
Great course
Course was in good condition, staff were very friendly
The course
The course is very good overall it's a very good layout on the holes with some difficult holes but very enjoyable
Good value on twilight times
Normally play concil course and this course is very well kept and the greens were in food condition. Lots of long par 4 and 5s
But over all well kept
Great Value
Pleasantly surprised by Pype Hayes. Yes the course isn’t Augusta National but for £18 for 18 holes, I thought it was great - lots of varied holes, greens and fairways in decent nick and for a Saturday afternoon the pace of play was good.
Bunkers could be improved as a few were in need of repair but for what is clearly a course run on a tight budget, the green keepers do an excellent job.
If you’re somebody who doesn’t want to pay £50 for a round of golf, you could do a lot worse than this place.
