We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff and played an enjoyable round. The back 9 is more picturesque but we were playing the first in rain. One of our group was a relative golf novice and it suited him nicely as it did for us two more experienced players.
Golf with friends
The course is pretty demanding. 2 Loops of Nine holes which meet at the club house. The greens were in excellent condition and very fast. The Tee markers could be clearer. We visited with a friend who had not played there before and they were impressed. It was very windy which affected out game but the course stood up to the conditions well. The club house and facilities are very good and the bar staff very helpful. The food looked very nice and a good menu. Play was slightly held up by a slow four ball which backed everyone up but unfortunately you can get that at any course. In the summer the fairways can get fast and there are nice views down to the beach and Sea at Polzeath.
Very nice, some holes quite challenging for a beginner
Will try to come back before we leave. Nice lunch also!
Fledgling front nine, lovely back nine
It seems that these are 2 separate golf courses? The front nine is like golf in a field and the back nine is delightful and more mature.
We had the course to ourselves so 3 hours to get around the course was great!
A course for all.
A lot of work is being done to improve this clubhouse. The course front 9 layout although not as good as the back nine is still a good test. The greens were very good receptive and offered a good smooth pace for the time of year. It appears resent work had been complete on the bunkers. The staff were very friendly hear. Should I return to Cornwall I would love to see how this course develops in the future.
